Katt Williams Arrested

10th November 2008 | Category: Las Vegas,Theater | Tags:

Nobody was laughing at comedian Katt Williams this week after he was arrested on weapons charges in midtown Manhattan. Police say they pulled him over for driving a car without license plates.

The 35-year-old performer was released on bail Thursday just in time to make it for his show at Carnegie Hall. He told the audience that he “just got out of jail.”

Police say a handgun (or two or three according to police) was found in Williams’ car after he was stopped for the alleged traffic violation. Illegal handgun and no license for the car. It remains to be seen whether that merits a slap on the wrist – or a stern look – from the judge?

Last month, Williams did not show up for his gig as host of the BET awards, and the comic also didn’t make it to appear on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien”.. Fame does change folks, doesn’t it..

Cher Unable to Sing Due to Sore Throat – Not Cancer

31st October 2008 | Category: Concerts,Las Vegas | Tags:

Contactmusic.com reports that Cher, 62, denies that it was a cancer diagnosis that made her pull out of her last two performances at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas earlier this month.

The rumor had it that the singer was dealing with cancer, but Cher says that she was just unable to sing due to allergies, which made her throat sore.

“My health is great… If I had cancer everyone would know it. I wouldn’t tell them, but somebody would. When you have those kind of things happen if you’re famous you can’t keep them a secret,” the singer is quoted as saying by the entertainment site.
