Carolina Panthers VS Dallas Cowboys

27th November 2015 | Category: Sports

Thursday November 26, 2015 at 4:30pm

The ultimate return of Tony Romo has brought life into the Dallas Cowboys as it has taken some of the attention off teammate Greg Hardy as they are heading into the defensive ends on Thanksgiving Day reunion with his former teammates.

Whether or not the Cowboys are good enough to overcome Can Newton or even handle the intimidating Carolina Panthers defense strategies is yet to be seen.

As the Cowboys are looking to build their first win in the past two months, they continue their series domination by handing the visiting Panthers their first defeat on Thursday.

After missing a total of seven games due to a broken collarbone, Romo went 18 of 28 for a 227 yard with 2 touchdowns as well as two interceptions in order to help the Cowboys snap a seven game slide with Sunday’s 24-14 win against Miami.  Although Tony Romo was not spectacular playing against the underachieving Miami Dolphins, his presence seemed to have revived a team that its season was going downhill fast.

As the challenge will be significantly tougher while they are up against the Carolina Panthers who are 10 and 0.  Although the Carolina Panthers have dropped their last nine regular season games against the Dallas Cowboys, which ultimately included four straight games at Dallas, they have not went head to head since 2012.

The Carolina Panthers possess a frightening defense even without Hardy, who blossomed into one of the NFL’s top pass rushers while spending his first five game seasons in Carolina. Hardy was placed on the Commissioner’s exempt list due to an arrest for domestic violence charges and he only played one game last season while he was with the Carolina Panthers, who ultimately opted not to re-sign his contract.  After this Hardy made a 1 year deal with the Dallas Cowboys in March.

The Carolina Panthers will be without their backup defensive end Wes Horton, who was ultimately suspended for 4 games for the violation of NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.

Green Bay vs. Carolina Panthers Look to be the Game of the Week

6th November 2015 | Category: Sports

Undefeated Carolina Panthers will take on the 6-1 Green Bay Packers this weekend. This will be the match up of the weekend and defining moment for the tough and gritty Carolina team. After beating up on a few teams with strong defense and Cam Newton leading the way the Panthers have garnered little respect even though they may deserve much more. A lot of their wins haven’t been blowouts but they have found ways to get the job done. They are one of the last few undefeated teams and they have a Green Bay team until last week were looking like a perennial championship contender.

The Packers come to Carolina off of their first loss of the season against the Denver Broncos last week. The Packers have a chance to rebound with a win over a quality football team. Aaron Rodgers despite being one of the greatest quarterbacks in history does not want to take a second loss in a row. Green Bay who defense has been above average took last week off against the Peyton Manning led Broncos giving up 500 yards of total offense. The 29-10 beat down ended their undefeated season and put a microscope on how they will be able to protect Rodgers for the remainder of the season.

The Panthers have an aggressive defense who will put tons of pressure on the Green Bay offensive line and make it difficult for Rodgers to do his magic. He will still be able to get away some things but we won’t know until the game ends. If you are in the Carolina area this would be the game to attend. Two of the best teams in the league this season facing off with a losing streak on the line for the packers and a whole lot of respect to be claimed for the Panthers if they can get the job done. Check out the ticket center for tickets and be a part of the game of the weekend.

UCLA Bruins Vs. Stanford Cardinals

14th October 2015 | Category: Sports

Jim Mora the UCLA Bruins coach has too often found Stanford Cardinals standing in the way of UCLA’s goals, this is due to the Bruins have not been yet been able to stand in the way of Stanford’s power rushing attack.

The Cardinals have defeated the Bruins at the 2012 Pac-12 championship game, as UCLA was on the verge of winning this last season until Stanford delivered a 31-10 upset in the season’s finale.  The main common factor in each of UCLA’s four losses to the Cardinal’s has ultimately been their inability to stop the run, that allows for 192 yards rushing.

Jim Mora believes that 18th ranked Bruins will be up for the challenge Thursday night even though the Number 15 Cardinals is once again running the ball with such precision and physicality, even in spite of the rash of recent injuries that have happened.

Moro stated that within the two practices that they had last week he thought that they were good, and then Sunday they were on it again.  He had to rearrange the puzzle just a bit with some of the guys going down and other guys switching positions.

Mossi Johnson became the 4th Bruin defender that was lost in the season due to an injury that tore three ligaments in one of the practices last week.  Johnson was moved to safety from receiver as the secondary was reconfigured after Fabian Moreau suffered from a serious injury.

Without UCLA’s top players at each level of their defense available, Arizona rushed 353 yards and they had 192 yards on the ground.  UCLA’s coach stated that overall he was pleased with how the run defense was actually performed, but stated that they buckled to late.
