Academy of Country Music Awards
The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be held in Las Vegas. Reba McEntire will once again be the host making this the 12th straight year in a row she has had this honor.
Reba is one of country music’s icons with more than fifty million records sold and was given the title of a Leading Lady of country music in 2003. She has won eleven Academy of Country Music Awards and has had forty-one nominations. Reba fans as well as all country music fans will be excited to learn that tickets are on sale for the April 18th event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The Academy of Country Music Awards is one of the most popular as well as recognized American music award shows normally featuring performances by a wide variety of country music superstars. Awards are given to country artists in many different categories such as Single of the Year, Video of the Year, and Top New Female Vocalist.
A few of this years entertainment line up will include Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton & Trace Adkins, Reba McEntire, Lady Antebellum, Brooks & Dunn, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, and Tim McGraw.
The nominations for the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards were recently read on CBS’ The Early Show by Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton. Going on its third year, fans will vote for the honor of Entertainer of the Year. Three new categories have been announced including Top New Solo Vocalist, Top New Vocal Group, and Top New Vocal Duo, which will also accept voting by fans.
A few of the nominations include Lady Antebellum with seven nominations, Miranda Lambert with six nominations, Carrie Underwood with six nominations, Taylor Swift with five nominations, Kenny Chesney with four nominations, Brad Paisley with four nominations, Zac Brown Band with four nominations, and Zac Brown with two individuals nominations, to name a few.
