Ariana Grande’s The Sweetener Tour Is Breaking Records
Last month, Ariana Grande played the last of 48 dates of the Sweetener World Tour’s first leg.
At the close of the tour’s North American leg, the singer has earned $78.8 million and sold 659,842 tickets in 2019, according to reports.
Her shows in New York, two at Madison Square Garden and two at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center market the highest-grossing and best-selling North American performances of her career with receipts of $5.5 million (28,576 tickets) from MSG and 28,972 tickets ($4.4 million gross) for her Barclays Center shows.
What’s more, out of the singer’s 40 best-grossing performances across her career, 32 are the ones from the Sweetener World Tour’s first leg, an astounding achievement taken into consideration the tour is not even at its halfway mark yet.
The Sweetener World Tour, with all of Europe and a second North American leg left, has already surpassed the global totals of all her previous tours. It left far behind the Honeymoon Tour’s $25.3 million, with Dangerous Woman Tour ($71.1 million) following closely.
Grande set a rare quick pace for pop artist last November, releasing “Thank U, Next” and an album of the same name in February 2019. The Sweetener follow-up also debuted at No.1 giving her first two No.1 titles on the Hot 100. The title track and “7 Rings” were featured on the list for seven and eight non-consecutive weeks, effectively pushing her fans into a ticket-buying frenzy, mounting one of the top tours of 2019.
