Bob Dylan Announces U.S. Fall Tour with Mavis Staples
Bob Dylan has just announced the third leg of 2017 across North America and he is bringing iconic Mavis Staples, rhythm and blues and gospel singer, as support.
The fall tour is scheduled to set off on October 13 in Valley Center in California and to conclude in Agganis Arena in Boston on November 16. Mavis Staples, whose album with Jeff Tweedy is soon to be released, will play in the 19 of 21 shows in total, starting with two shows in Eccles Theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 17 and 18.
Tickets for all venues can be purchased here.
Don’t miss the opportunity to be the part of “Never Ending Tour”, the endless touring schedule this American singer, songwriter and writer started on June 7, 1988.
This has been a busy year for Bob Dylan.
In April and May he performed 28 shows of leg one over Europe and 49 shows of leg two in June and July across the North America. It will be 77 in total when the third leg is finished. In March, Dylan released his 38th album “Triplicate”, a triple-disc of classic American songs that Rolling Stone Magazine ranked as one of the 2017’s Best Albums So Far. “Trouble No More”, the Dylan documentary that contains footage from singer’s concert tour dates in 1979-1980, expects its premiere at the New York Film Festival on September 30. Not bad for a 76-year-old musician.
Bob Dylan is a legend who sold more than 100 million records over five decades and is one of the best-selling artists of all time. He won eleven Grammy Awards, a golden Globe and an Academy Award. And as if it wasn’t enough, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama in 2012 and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016 for “having created new poetic expression within the great American song tradition”.
