Cardi B, Bruno Mars, Beyonce and Jay Z Lead MTV VMA Nominations
MTV has announced nominations for MTV Video Music Awards 2018 and we can freely say “Oh Boy”! Hip-hop acts raked up the most nominations and it will definitely be a night to remember.
This year’s top act is Cardi B which earned ten nominations, five of which are for her remix with Bruno Mars “Finesse”. Bruno Mars has six nominations himself and both artists are facing off in the Artist of the Year category as well.
Cardi B had an amazing year! The rapper released her debut studio album “Invasion of Privacy” this year while she was also named to Time magazine’s list of 100 most influential people in the world and gave birth to daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus and now she is on her way to dominate MTV VMA.

The 90s-inspired music video collaboration between Bruno Mars and Cardi B “Finesse” is competing in the Video of the Year category against Beyoncé and Jay Z, now recognized as the duo The Carters, and their song “APESHIT”. This video is from their surprise joint album called Everything is Love. This amazing music video was set in the Louvre Museum in Paris. They scoped eight nominations and are currently on their world tour On the Run II.

The power couple is trailed by “This Is America” talent Childish Gambino and “God’s Plan” rapper Drake, with seven nominations each, as well as the newly engaged Ariana Grande and former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello with five each. Camilla Cabello is currently on the road as an opener for Taylor Swift. Young Thug and singer Khalid have four nominations each.
MTV VMAs will be aired on 20 August from Radio City Music Hall and we expect nothing less but spectacle!
