Ellie Goulding Announces Double-sided New Album ‘Brightest Blue’
Ellie Goulding has revealed that soon she will be releasing her fourth album, ‘Brightest Blue’. The new album is scheduled to come out on July 17th via Interscope Records.
The 18-track LP will have two sides, “Brightest Blue” and “EG.0”. It features a collaboration with late Juice WRLD, with which Goulding also worked with on the single ‘Hate Me’, released June 2019. Among other collaborators are Diplo, Lauv, Swae Lee, serpentwithfeet, and blackbear.
The five-track second half, “EG.0,” is where most of these collaborative tracks appear.
Speaking of it, Goulding says it encapsulates her “confident, brave and fearless side and features all my recent collaborations.
I often find myself writing about my thoughts and emotions in a way that I know will be catchy and memorable. I will always seek to use my voice in ways that no one would ever expect and look to collaborate with the least likely, exciting and eclectic group of other artists.”
Meanwhile, The album’s first half she says “reflects my vulnerability… it acknowledges a complex world where relationships still dictate our happiness and heartbreak and can still be the most painful thing in the world, no matter how enlightened you are,” Goulding adds.
“The tracks also symbolize growing up and becoming a woman.”
Also, the newly released single “Power”, will be on the upcoming album.
Last week, Goulding released the self-directed music video for it which she filmed while in lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Goulding recently joined Sigrid, Dua Lipa, Royal Blood, Biffy Clyro, AJ Tracey, Sean Paul, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and many others for a performance of Foo Fighters’ “Times Like These,” for a charity show earlier this year.
The UK singer-songwriter last released a full-length studio album in 2015, with ‘Delirium’.
