Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull Live! Scoops $18 million From First Leg
Spanish singer, Enrique Iglesias, and American rapper, Pitbull, once more hit the road together for a five-month-tour called “Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull Live!” and based on top-grossing Hot Tours, they are hitting it big.
First leg of the tour cashed in a whopping $18 million. Their co-headlining trek through North America, produced by Live Nation, started in Chicago on June 3 and will end on October 28 in Oakland with 35 dates in total. Choose one – or more – at your own convenience and buy the tickets here.
This is the second time the two performers tour together following their joint tour titled “Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull: Time of Our Lives”. A six-month-tour through 32 cities in 2014-2015 yielded more than $40 million in sales. No wonder they decided to join forces once again.
The first leg of the tour consisted of 16 cities and was scheduled to end in Montreal’s Bell Centre and Toronto’s Air Canada Center on July 5 and 6 but the two dates were postponed until October as Enrique Iglesias fell ill.
The New York city concert was the last stop until September 22 when the second leg of the tour will start. Single performances were staged in 13 venues, but Madison Square Garden hosted the tour for two nights on June 30 and July 1. First part of the tour was reported to Billboard during the past week with sales reaching a total of 185,933 tickets sold and $18 million from the first four weeks on the road.
The opening act for the tour is Latin American pop boy band CNCO. The band was formed in 2015, consisting of winning members of the first season of La Banda, the singing competition created by Simon Cowell and produced by Ricky Martin.
Pitbull hits the stage first and heats up the atmosphere with a great repertoire for more than an hour. His classics “Culo”, “Hit the moment”, “Fireball” and “Hey Ma” will definitely make you “forget about anything and everything and just feel the moment” as fans describe it.
After almost an hour intermission, Enrique takes the stage with hits including “Hero”, “Bailamos”, “Escape”, “I’m a Freak”, “Loco” and many more. The two close the stage together singing “I Like It.
