Jaden Smith on Tour with Fall Out Boy

4th August 2017 | Category: Concerts

The nineteen-year-old son of a famous actors, Will and Jada Smith, Jaden Smith is carving a career not only as an actor and a model, but also as a musician.

He has already proven himself as a compelling rapper but has surprised everyone with his latest move. He will be supporting veteran rockers Fall Out Boy for one month of their US tour in the autumn.  Jaden will join the band in concerts from October 20 till November 18 in cities including San Diego, New York, Houston and Atlanta. Check the full list of cities and buy a ticket here.

Jaden Smith is still in his teenage years and is often referred to as an influential figurehead in the new young troupe of celebrity offspring. Jaden has released a few new official singles recently “Watch me”, “Jumpman” and “Batman” in which he wears the same Batman costume he wore at Kanye and Kim’s wedding.

The news was announced just last week along with the surreal video for the Fall Out Boy’s recent single “Champion”. The video features Jaden in a bad virtual reality trip. Josh Brener of Silicon Valley, the Bachelor star Ashley Iaconetti and Timothy Granaderos from 13 Reasons Why also appears in this Brandan Walter & Mel Soria-directed video. The video shows people chasing the dreams and experience the world through VR headsets. The video ends with Jaden smashing the headset with a baseball bat.

“I can’t think of a worse drug than fake reality…we create and can be whoever we want, yet our choices often leave us lonely and unfulfilled,” says Fall Out Boy bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz.

“Smash the fake reality. Don’t just sit around and kill time.”

Fall Out Boy originated from Chicago’s hardcore punk scene in 2001 but they gained commercial success with the 2003 album ”Take This to Your Grave”. The band’s 2005 “From Under the Cork Tree” went double platinum and was a major label breakthrough. The band’s glory continued to rise over the years and in 2016 they were nominated for two Billboard Music Awards, Top Rock Artist and Top Rock Song for their single Uma Thurman.

Their seventh studio album “MANIA” was to be released on September 15 but they pushed it back until January 19, 2018 because it wasn’t ready and felt rushed. The Mania Tour though kicks off in Cleveland on October 20. In Addition, $1 of every ticket of the tour will go towards the band’s newly launched Fall Out Boy Fund which will be supporting a number of charity organizations in the Chicago Area.

Tickets for all venues can be purchased here.
