Limp Bizkit Announce North American 2022 Tour Dates
Limp Bizkit have announced plans for a North American tour next month.
The nu-metal icons’ ‘Still Sucks’ jaunt will take in 19 dates kicking off at the Hard Rock Live in Tampa, Florida, before making their way to Atlantic City, New York, Green Bay, Las Vegas and Reno before wrapping things up on May 31 in Ontario, Canada.
They will be supported by Wargasm, $not, Scowl, Yung Gravy and Dying Wish on the tour.
The new shows come after the band cancelled a series of concerts on their ‘Limited Last Minute Post Pandemic Popup Party Edition’ tour last year “out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of the band, crew and, most of all, the fans.”
The US tour comes ahead of their forthcoming UK tour in September. They recently added an extra date at London’s O2 Academy Brixton and a new stop at O2 Academy Birmingham.
Still Sucks dropped on Halloween of 2021, preceded by the single “Dad Vibes.” Along with the new music came a new look for frontman Fred Durst, who sported a gray wig and horseshoe mustache along with “dad” clothes when the band played a few gigs over the summer before postponing the remaining dates over COVID safety concerns.
The new album marked Limp Bizkit’s first LP in 10 years, following 2011’s Gold Cobra. In addition to Durst, the band features fellow original members John Otto (drums), Sam Rivers (bass), Wes Borland (guitar) and DJ Lethal.
Borland provided an album update in June 2021, detailing the struggles with the album:
“We’ve probably, in the last 10 years, been in the studio to try and complete the record, I wanna say, seven times, to different studios. And we’ve been working on stuff, working on stuff, working on stuff. And Fred [Durst] has been consistently kind of unsatisfied with where vision is, I guess…We probably have 35 songs recorded instrumentally, and he’s done vocals on them and then thrown the vocals away — done vocals and then [gone], ‘Fuck this,’ [and] thrown it away. So I think he’s finally at the point now where he’s gonna pick a set of these songs that he’s finally cool with and finish ’em and we’re gonna finish the record. So, fingers crossed.”
