There are seven more U.S. dates before the band hits a European 25-show run.

Metallica hit the road in support of their platinum, Grammy-nominated album Hardwired…to Self-destruct. The album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 on 10 December 2016 and then returned to the top on 25 March and 31 March which only proves its quality and longevity.

Although they surpassed the $150 million mark, that’s not all for this mega-popular band. Metallica finished last week landing on No.3 at Hot Tours list with $10.3 million grossed from the January 2019 leg of the WorldWired tour.

Metallica kicked off their recent North American jaunt on 18 January and the 2019 leg has grossed $14.4 million and sold 123,792 tickets so far. The band performed on 18 January at Tulsa’s BOK Center, which grossed $2.2 million. But they’ve since upped the ante, grossing $2.4 million at Raleigh’s PNC Arena on 28 January and $2.5 million at Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena on 1 February.

While Cleveland claims they are the leg’s highest gross, the Raleigh show posted the best attendance numbers, selling 19,361 tickets. So far, the tour has sold 1,554,470 tickets in total.

After Metallica wraps up its European leg, they will hit Asia and South America. This extensive worldwide tour mirrors Metallica’s global reach throughout their career. Dating back to when Billboard Boxscore’s archives began in 1990, the band has grossed over $600 million and sold over 10 million tickets across the globe.
