Shakira Postpones Her Tour Due to Vocal Cord Hemorrhage
Bad news for all Shakira fans!
They will have to wait a bit longer than initially planned for her El Dorado Tour to kick off since the doctor ordered her to rest her vocal cords. She will be back in August for the North American run.
Nevertheless, yo don’t need to wait any longer so buy your tickets right now.
Just last month, Shakira postponed her first set of tour dates in Europe and now she delayed the North American leg of her tour due to a prolonged recovery from a vocal cord injury.
In November, she had to reschedule her European leg of the tour and take a vocal rest, but now, few weeks after, her condition didn’t alleviate and she was forced to reschedule the North American leg as well. Her doctor expects a full recovery and that she will be ready to be back on the road on 5 June in Cologne, Germany. Over the June and July, she will hit major cities in Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal and Spain.
The Colombian superstar is thankful to her fans for the understanding and support they show her. She went to social media to express her gratitude for the fans’ immeasurable love through her prolonged recovery, explaining there wasn’t any other way and that her injury simply needs more time to heal. Her voice isn’t only hers but also belongs to her fans and therefore has a purpose, a purpose she mustn’t betray but respect. She also promised to give her best every minute on stage and perform the best spectacle so far.
El Dorado World Tour is Shakira’s sixth world tour in support of her eleventh studio album. For now, 36 dates, 15 in Europe and 19 in North America have been announced. Dates for Mexico and Latin America are soon to be announced. The 40-year-old singer will kick off her U.S. dates on 3 August in Chicago, Illinois and then perform in 18 cities all over North America, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, New York, Washington, DC, Miami, Los Angeles and many more.
