Taylor Swift Breaks Attendance Record with First Reputation Show
A week before her first concert in Phoenix, Taylor Swift has already broken attendance record. This is really insane and seems fans are ready for their Tay-Tay, how they call the famous singer. If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet for Taylor’s Reputation tour, hurry up or you’ll stay short-handed judging by the sales so far.
According to the report from Billboard, Swift’s upcoming 8 May performance in Glendale, Arizona at the University of Phoenix Stadium will surpass One Direction 2014 that held the record so far. Tom Sadler, president and CEO of Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority confirmed Taylor to be a record-breaker.
“The frenzy continues to grow as Taylor Swift has already broken the University of Phoenix Stadium’s concert attendance record, which was previously held by One Direction in 2014 with 56,524 fans,” he tells Billboard. “With 11 days left before the show, Swift has already surpassed One Direction’s attendance number.”
Believe it or not, Taylor still hasn’t sold out this show. At least 1,000 floor seats and some premium sections in front of the stage are still available. Tayler revealed to her Instagram followers that the main stage will be 10 stories high and that back wall is enormous video screen that melds with the stage surface.
“It looks so cool from the upper sections of the stadium! It’s kind of like you’re walking on an optical illusion”
The 28-year-old singer’s tracklist will feature 10 biggest hits from her previous records and plenty of songs from her blockbuster-selling Reputation. With the first show approaching, Taylor is revealing facts about the upcoming track. She will pick people during the show to come after to say hi. She is pretty excited they are looking in all kinds of different ways to find fans to meet her backstage at her “Rap Room” after the show and mingle. We hope you will be the one of these lucky “Swifties”.
Camilla Cabello and Charli XCX will join Swift for the Reputation tour as opening acts. After the first show in Arizona, she will head to Santa Clara, California on 11 and 12 May and then south to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. After the North American leg, this hit maker will head overseas and wrap up on 9 November in New Zealand.
