The Allman Brothers Band Announce 12 Date Summer Tour
The Allman Brothers Band will be embarking on a short tour this summer, a tour that will see them performing with Steve Winwood and Grace Potter and The Nocturnals at venues across America. The tour gets under way in Illinois on Tuesday 20th August with the first of two concerts at The Chicago Theatre, with the second concert being staged on Wednesday 21st August. From Illinois the band will head west to New York for a concert at The Darien Lakes Performing Arts Center, a concert that will be held on Friday 23rd August. Steve Winwood will also be in attendance at the Darien Lakes concert as he will be for the following five concerts as well.
From New York The Allman Brothers Band and Steve Winwood will plays concerts in Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York again and North Carolina where two concerts will be staged. The first North Carolina concert will be held on Friday 30th August at The Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek which is located in Raleigh, with the second being held the next day at The Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Charlotte.
Band member Gregg Allman is really looking forward to the forthcoming tour and he had this to say when asked about the 12 upcoming concerts, He said, ・This will be a good little run. On Monday 2nd September The Allman Brothers Band will be in the state of Georgia, where they will be joined by Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, with The Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta being the location for this particular concert. From Georgia the two bands will head to Virginia and Massachusetts for another two concerts, then they will head to New York for the tour finale on Saturday 7th September. The final concert will be held at the well renowned Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, a venue that has been hosting concerts for over 60 years.
