The Beach Boys Ready to Embark on US Holiday Tour
The Beach Boys will embark on a US tour just in time for a festive season.
The 22-show-trek kicks off on 16 November in Chattanooga so buy your tickets on time. Their music brings families together and they are ready to ring in the holiday season with you.
After kicking off in Tennessee, The beach Boys will hit another US cities including Boston, Baltimore, Charlotte and South Lake City before they wrap up in Denver on 30 December. In addition to Love, the current Beach Boys lineup also includes Bruce Johnston who joined the band in 1965, as well as Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill, Jeffrey Foskett, Keith Hubacher, Christian Love, and Scott Totten.
The Beach Boys’ lead singer, Mike Love, has no intention of slowing things down, Although he is 77 years old, he is releasing his new collection of holiday songs called Reason for the Season on 26 October. This album will feature 12 original holiday and Christmas classics including “Oh Come All Ye Faithfull , “Little St. Nick” and “Finally It’s Christmas”.
Talking about the album, Love explains his reasons and motivation that drew him.
“What is so special about this collection of songs is that they both harken back to the wonder of childhood and family, but also feel very relevant and exciting for a new season of listening. It’s such a joy to create this music with my actual family and my family of collaborators, Sam, Steve, Michael Lloyd, Scott, and Hanson. We’re looking forward to being part of the soundtrack of many holiday seasons to come.”
This is Mike’s second solo album, following the 2017 Unleash the Love. The last Beach Boys studio album was released in 2012 called That’s Why God Made the Radio. The band has also released a classic live album every year since 2013. Each live album is an album from exactly 50 years before.
They have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and are one of the best-selling bands of all time. The core quintet of the Wilson brothers, Love and Jardine was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. These rock icons have been rocking the scene since its first days in 1961 and the might never stop touring as they announced more dates coming in the 2019. Tickets for US dates can be found here.
