The Who

Way back in “The Day” Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, Peter Townshend and Keith Moon built something that put rock and roll on the charts in a huge way.

They were renowned for their high energy performances, and are regarded today as one of the greatest and most influential rock and roll bands of all time.

The New York Times says they estimate that The Who have sold more than 100 million records to date, world wide.

Keith Moon died in 1978, but the band lived on and continued to release albums, including the top five Face Dances (1981) with drummer Kenney Jones, before they officially disbanded in 1983.

The Who has regrouped several times to perform in such special things as Live Aid, and for reunion tours, and began to discuss releasing another album.

In 2000, the 3 surviving first members of the band began to get serious about discussions on an album of all new material, but the death of John Entwistle in 2002 delayed the idea significantly.

The idea re-emerged in time and in 2006 a new album, Endless Wire was released that hit top tens in both the U.S and the UK.

Today Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey continue to perform as The Who. Their concerts are still, for all the years in between, high energy and high style.

This year The Who hits the tour circuit, playing for Madison Square Garden, as well as the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

Isn’t it time that you took an evening off to see one of the best bands in existence today?
