Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World Announce Co-headlining Summer Tour
Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World will hit the road together this summer for the Summer Gods Tour. The co-headlining trek will hit 35 American cities between middle June and early August so buy your tickets on time.
Summer Gods Tour, produced by Live Nation, will kick off on 14 June at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and hit Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles and many more before it ends on 3 August at FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine, California. Ra Ra Riot will appear on all shows as tour opener.
Third Eye Blind took a lot of time picking out the bands to play with them so touring in the summer “feels like more of a festival thing” Jenkins of Third Eye Blind said.
“We couldn’t be more excited to spend our 25th summer as a band touring the country of our birth to play music for our American fans!” says Jimmy Eat World, in a statement. “Thanks to Third Eye Blind for inviting us to be a part of this amazing tour. We can’t wait to hang out with our fans as well as making some new friends!”
Third Eye Blind is a San Francisco rock band that has sold around 12 million records since its inception in 1993. Third Eye Blind released their covers EP named Thanks For Everything that features renditions of songs by Queens of the Stone Age, Bon Iver and more back in August. Jimmy Eat World released two new songs “Love Never” and “Half Heart” following their 2016 LP Integrity Blues so the audience will enjoy both the new and old hits.
“The most scintillating, inspiring collective moments of my life have been outdoors in the summer exploding with music,” says Third Eye Blind frontman, Stephan Jenkins. “Those sensations travel from when I was a little kid and rock music was brand new to our last Summer Gods tour when everything is magically new again. I seek to create that exact blissed-out state of aliveness on tour this summer.”
As a huge fan of surfing, the band has dedicated to going green agenda years ago and making their tours ocean-friendly. The crew is bottle free since 2017 and this year they will be donating a part of ticket sales to a carbon offset program in Alaska to reduce carbon emissions caused by audience travel.
