Trivium Announce 2022 North American Tour with BTBAM, Whitechapel, and Khemmis

25th July 2022 | Category: Concerts

Trivium have announced the Fall 2022 “Dead Men and Dragons” North American tour in support of their 2021 album In the Court of the Dragon. The stacked tour package also includes Between the Buried and Me, Whitechapel, and Khemmis.

The outing follows Trivium’s September run supporting Iron Maiden and kicks off October 2nd. Dates run through November 10th in Los Angeles.

In the tour press release, the members of Trivium took the rare opportunity to personally comment on each of the support acts on the upcoming tour. Their respective remarks are below.

Frontman Matt Heafy stated,

“Between the Buried and Me are the pioneers of mixing genres well before anyone else had. BTBAM back in 2002 — on the impeccable self-titled album — showed that they were unapologetically ready to mix elements of death metal, melodic death metal, grindcore, power metal, prog, ethereal — at times beautiful — passages of melody. Their self-titled record was a massive influence on me; I was captivated by the immense mixture of so many styles. Through their combining of a vast range of sonics and soundscapes, they created a sound that is truly their own.”

Guitarist Corey Beaulieu noted, “We’re excited to have Whitechapel be a part of this amazing bill. It’s been over 10 years since we toured together on the Shogun tour and seeing how the band has progressed over the years and added a killer melodic element to their brutal sound just makes it a perfect time to share the stage once again.”

Bassist Paulo Gregoletto remarked, “Khemmis is one of my favorite new bands of the last few years, and when we were putting the tour together, I heavily advocated for having them on the bill. I think it’s always a testament to a band’s sound when you have trouble pinning a label to it — doom, melodic metal, thrash, death metal. With Khemmis, it’s all in there and rocks hard. They are a 10/10 live band and did a great cover of ‘Rainbow in the Dark,’ so do not miss their set!”

Paramore Announce North American Tour Dates

18th July 2022 | Category: Concerts

Paramore is getting ready to hit the road later this year. The group announced on Friday that it will be touring North America starting in October.

This is their first such outing in four years. The tour mainly covers the United States plus one stop in Toronto. The tour is scheduled to begin on October 2 in Bakersfield, California, at the Mechanics Bank Theater, and includes stops in Chicago, Atlanta, and Toronto, as well as festival appearances at Austin City Limits and When We Were Young. The North American trek will conclude on November 19 with an appearance at Mexico City’s Corona Capital Festival.

The rock trio’s last studio set was 2017’s After Laughter, and since then Williams has dropped two solo records, 2020’s Petals for Armor and 2021’s Flowers for Vases / Descansos. Meanwhile, the group has focused on being what Williams called “regular friends, without getting the outside world involved.”

Earlier this year, singer Hayley Williams revealed that Paramore were in the studio working on their first album in five years.

They may have expected some rust, but on their very first day reconnecting in a Nashville studio, Williams said, “We wrote and tracked something we loved and it actually surprised us.”

She added, “We kept joking it was all downhill from that point, but thank God we’ve been surprised a lot throughout this whole thing. I’m always waiting for the moment for us to know we’re onto something new and we’re not just rehashing the same shit. It was ‘Ain’t It Fun’ for our self-titled record, and ‘Hard Times’ or ‘Told You So’ for After Laughter. It’s not about it feeling like a hit so much as it’s a scary, exciting feeling that you’re treading uncharted waters. It keeps you curious. We got to feel that feeling early on this time.”

She also promised that the upcoming LP would put “more emphasis back on the guitar.”

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Announce 2023 US Tour Dates

15th July 2022 | Category: Concerts

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have announced a run of US concerts for 2023.

Next year, The Boss and the full E Street Band will reunite for the first time since 2017 for an extensive world tour. Details of the European leg were revealed back in May.

“After six years, I’m looking forward to seeing our great and loyal fans next year,” Springsteen said in a statement at the time. “And I’m looking forward to once again sharing the stage with the legendary E Street Band.

“See you out there, next year – and beyond!”

The 31 US shows will take place between February 1 and April 14. Scheduled stop-offs include Atlanta, Hollywood, Seattle, Boston, Washington D.C., Detroit, New York and Baltimore.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band last reconnected to perform on Saturday Night Live in December 2020, where they launched live versions of two songs from their most recent studio album Letter To You, which reached #1 in eleven countries and marked the band’s first time recording live together in decades.

Last year, Springsteen unveiled his never-before-released “The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts” film, collaborated with President Barack Obama on the book ‘Renegades: Born In The USA’ and reprised his record-setting show ‘Springsteen On Broadway’ to help reopen New York City theaters last summer.

Last month saw Bruce Springsteen make a surprise appearance during Paul McCartney’s headline show at Glastonbury 2022. He played his own ‘Glory Days’ and The Beatles’ ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’ alongside Macca.

The E Street Band’s members are: Roy Bittan – piano, synthesizer; Nils Lofgren – guitar, vocals; Patti Scialfa – guitar, vocals; Garry Tallent – bass guitar; Stevie Van Zandt – guitar, vocals; and Max Weinberg – drums; with Soozie Tyrell – violin, guitar, vocals; Jake Clemons – saxophone; and Charlie Giordano – keyboards.

Shawn Mendes Postpones 3 Weeks of ‘Wonder’ Tour to Focus on Mental Health

12th July 2022 | Category: Concerts

Shawn Mendes has postponed the next 12 dates on the North American leg of his ‘Wonder’ tour, citing a need to prioritise his mental health.

The dozen shows comprise the next three weeks of Mendes’ touring schedule – he was due to perform in the Minnesotan capital of St. Paul tonight (July 9), followed by shows in Omaha and Milwaukee across the rest of the weekend.

Also affected by the news are gigs in Rosemont, St. Louis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Raleigh, Philadelphia, Washington DC and Uncasville. All of these will be rescheduled, however new dates are yet to be announced.

In a personal statement shared on social media, Mendes wrote:

“I’ve been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it’s always been difficult to be on the road away from friends and family. After a few years off the road, I felt like was ready to dive back in, but that decision was premature and unfortunately the toll of the road and the pressure has caught up to me and I’ve hit a breaking point.

“After speaking with my team and health professionals, I need to take some time to heal and take care of myself and my mental health, first and foremost. As soon as there are more updates I promise I will let you know.”

The North American leg of the ‘Wonder’ tour will resume in Toronto on Sunday July 31. It’ll roll on until Wednesday October 26, when Mendes and his crew take to the stage in Newark, New Jersey. At the time of writing, that’s slated to be his last show for 2022, before a UK and European run kicks off next May. Full details for the ‘Wonder’ tour can be seen here.

Meanwhile, May saw Mendes put his spin on Bruce Springsteen‘s ‘Dancing In The Dark’ for the fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger. It wasn’t the first time the Canadian singer has been connected to The Boss – in 2018, Mendes opened the MTV VMAs with a performance and outfit that many deemed reminiscent of Springsteen’s white-collared look.

The Dead Daisies to Embark on 2022 Fall US Tour

11th July 2022 | Category: Concerts

They’re really looking forward to tearing up stages from the East to West coast playing new music along with the classic hits with September dates announced thus far. The trek kicks off September 7th in Vineland, NJ with stops in Nashville, Los Angeles, Portland and others before wrapping September 24th in Seattle.

“Look out!! We’re hitting a few of the best RnR cities starting in early September. Can’t wait to play you the new tunes!!! See you on tour!!” shared the band’s Doug Aldrich.

While they shine on tour, the group’s second single, “Shine On” from their upcoming album slated for late September, is available now. With The Daisies’ trademark Aussie rock stamp all over it, this hard-driving track is one to sink your teeth into and set to become an instant anthem.

“Straight up Aussie rock, it started as a riff I wrote on the tour bus and now here it is!” states David Lowy.

“Here’s another slab of driving, pounding rock from your friends in The Dead Daisies! The new single is ‘Shine On.’ I had a blast recording this with the guys, and hope y’all dig it as well!” adds Brian Tichy.

Make sure you don’t miss Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Country Communion), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio) Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Foreigner), and David Lowy (MINK, Red Phoenix), when they come to a town near you in the fall.
