Lil Nas X Announces First-Ever Tour

2nd May 2022 | Category: Concerts

Lil Nas X is finally taking his smash debut album, Montero, on the road.

The artist shared the news via his social media, captioning the trailer for the tour:

“i’m having my very first tour. and all of u better come or i will cry on instagram live.”

The trailer for the trek, which is dubbed the Long Live Montero Tour, features highlights from the last few years of the singer’s career.

“Hello, I am Montero, and I welcome you to my event,” the rapper’s voice proclaims in the clip, before throwing in one of his classic jokey comments. “My world. My universe. Everyone’s allowed — except gay people. I am Lil Nas X, and I present to you my first tour.”

The “Long Live Montero Tour” begins with a 14-date North American leg, kicking off in Detroit on September 6th. Lil Nas X is also scheduled to make stops in Chicago, Toronto, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Nashville, Miami, and Los Angeles, among other cities, before wrapping up the leg in San Francisco on October 23rd.

The European leg of the tour, which will begin on November 8 with a show in Amsterdam, will conclude on November 17 in Barcelona.

Lil Nas X rose to prominence with the release of his country rap single “Old Town Road”, which first achieved viral popularity in early 2019 before climbing music charts internationally and becoming diamond certified by November of that same year. “Old Town Road” spent 19 weeks atop the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the longest-running number-one song since the chart debuted in 1958.

Following the success of “Old Town Road”, Lil Nas X released his debut extended play, titled 7, which produced two further singles, with “Panini” and “Rodeo” (featuring Cardi B or Nas). His debut studio album, Montero arrived last September, featuring the chart-topping singles “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” and “Industry Baby” (with Jack Harlow).

Stray Kids Announce ‘MANIAC’ US Tour Dates

23rd April 2022 | Category: Concerts

Stray Kids have announced the dates for the North American leg of their upcoming “Maniac” world tour on Monday. The K-pop octet will kick off the outing in Seoul, South Korea at the end of April, before hitting Japan in May and then making it to U.S. shores in June and July.

The Live Nation-promoted U.S. shows are in support of their No. 1 Billboard 200 collection, Stray Kids Mini Album: Oddinary and they will kick off on June 29 with a gig at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, before moving on to gigs in Chicago, Atlanta, Forth Worth, Los Angeles, Oakland and Seattle.

The group — which includes members Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and I.N — launched at No. 1 on the Billboard album charts in March with 110,000 equivalent album units and Top Album Sales with 103,000 in album sales according to Luminate, formerly MRC Data. It was the band’s first No. 1 on each chart and also the first title to debut atop the rankings simultaneously since Adele’s 30 in December of last year.

Stray Kids are the fourth K-pop act to hit No. 1 on the Artist 100, which began in 2014, joining BTS (20 total weeks at No. 1), BLACKPINK and SuperM (one week each). The guys were absolutely shocked by the chart double-dip, and in a chat with Billboard on Twitter Spaces they were freaking out about their first entries on the BB tallies. “Woah, so exciting!” the South Korean pop group was heard cheering about the news, before Bang Chan chimed in, “We heard the news a few moments ago and are like, ‘Is this real? Is this actually happening?’ We were really surprised too.”

Anthrax and Black Label Society Announce Co-Headlining 2022 North American Tour

20th April 2022 | Category: Concerts

Anthrax and Black Label Society are teaming up for a co-headlining North American tour this Summer. Rounding out the bill are hardcore metallers Hatebreed.

The outing kicks off July 26th in Phoenix, and runs through an August 28th show in Philadelphia.

Anthrax, who formed in 1981, will finally be able to celebrate their 40th anniversary as a band in person with their fans, after a series of virtual events last year. The trek will also offer a chance for the thrash masters to hit the road with their good friend Zakk Wylde, frontman of Black Label Society.

“Zakk has been a friend and an inspiration to me as a guitar player, songwriter, and beard grower since we met in 1988,” said Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian. “We’ve had the privilege to share festival stages with Zakk and BLS around the world, and it’s always been a head-banging mutual admiration society between the two bands. Now we get to share the stage every night on what is easily going to be the heaviest tour of 2022 — the ultimate pounding one-two combination of bands. Oh, and did I mention we’ve got f**king Hatebreed with us as our special guests? Holy crap, it’s going to be the night of 1,000 crushing riffs. I can’t wait to see you all on the road.”

The ever-amusing Wylde added, “ANTHRAX is one of The BESTEST LEGENDARY METAL/THRASH BANDS of ALL TIME — I have been buds with SCOTTY, CHARLIE, FRANKIE & JOEY for over 3O years & they are some of the BESTEST people you will meet. JON is The BESTEST new addition ANTHRAX could ask for — HATEBREED are The BESTEST HARDCORE/EXTREME METAL band & BESTEST friends w/ANTHRAX & BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. The ANTHRAX + BLACK LABEL SOCIETY & HATEBREED TOUR is going to be one of the BESTEST TOURS EVER!!”
