Limp Bizkit Announce North American 2022 Tour Dates

21st March 2022 | Category: Concerts

Limp Bizkit have announced plans for a North American tour next month.

The nu-metal icons’ ‘Still Sucks’ jaunt will take in 19 dates kicking off at the Hard Rock Live in Tampa, Florida, before making their way to Atlantic City, New York, Green Bay, Las Vegas and Reno before wrapping things up on May 31 in Ontario, Canada.

They will be supported by Wargasm, $not, Scowl, Yung Gravy and Dying Wish on the tour.

The new shows come after the band cancelled a series of concerts on their ‘Limited Last Minute Post Pandemic Popup Party Edition’ tour last year “out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of the band, crew and, most of all, the fans.”

The US tour comes ahead of their forthcoming UK tour in September. They recently added an extra date at London’s O2 Academy Brixton and a new stop at O2 Academy Birmingham.

Still Sucks dropped on Halloween of 2021, preceded by the single “Dad Vibes.” Along with the new music came a new look for frontman Fred Durst, who sported a gray wig and horseshoe mustache along with “dad” clothes when the band played a few gigs over the summer before postponing the remaining dates over COVID safety concerns.

The new album marked Limp Bizkit’s first LP in 10 years, following 2011’s Gold Cobra. In addition to Durst, the band features fellow original members John Otto (drums), Sam Rivers (bass), Wes Borland (guitar) and DJ Lethal.

Borland provided an album update in June 2021, detailing the struggles with the album:

“We’ve probably, in the last 10 years, been in the studio to try and complete the record, I wanna say, seven times, to different studios. And we’ve been working on stuff, working on stuff, working on stuff. And Fred [Durst] has been consistently kind of unsatisfied with where vision is, I guess…We probably have 35 songs recorded instrumentally, and he’s done vocals on them and then thrown the vocals away — done vocals and then [gone], ‘Fuck this,’ [and] thrown it away. So I think he’s finally at the point now where he’s gonna pick a set of these songs that he’s finally cool with and finish ’em and we’re gonna finish the record. So, fingers crossed.”

Incubus Announce Big US Tour with Sublime With Rome

16th March 2022 | Category: Concerts

Incubus have announced a massive tour across the US this summer where they’ll be joined by guest Sublime With Rome.

The tour kicks off in West Palm Beach, Florida this July, with stops in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City.

In addition to Sublime With Rome, The Aquadolls will also be joining the Brandon Boyd and co. on the road.

Incubus’ most recent project was 2020’s ‘Trust Fall (Side B)’ EP, released via ADA Worldwide. Asked about the progress of the band’s next album, the follow-up to 2017’s ‘8’, Boyd told NME he hoped to have something out by spring this year.

“We went out and did some shows and we’re all rehearsed up and ready to play,” said Boyd. “Our intention is to put together a new group of songs, whether it’ll be an EP or an LP, I’m not sure, but we’re hoping to have that done sometime by spring – but there’s a lot of hope in that statement.”

Last October, the band celebrated the 20th anniversary of their seminal album ‘Morning View’ with a livestream concert of the record performed in its entirety at the Malibu beach house it was originally recorded in.

Speaking on the initial decision to record the album in the house on Morning View Drive in Malibu, Boyd talked to NME about the making of the record and how they wanted to get away from the world during the recording process.

“We rented this big, empty house up in Malibu kind of away from everything,” he said.

“We were interested in seeing what would happen if we changed our environment dramatically and set up in a living room together and brought out all of our gear into this house, where it was as distraction free as you could possibly be in that moment.”

The Rolling Stones Announce 60th Anniversary UK and European Tour for Summer 2022

15th March 2022 | Category: Concerts

The Rolling Stones have announced details of a 60th-anniversary tour hitting the UK and Europe this summer.

Having been teasing fans for the past week, the rock legends will be heading out on the road to mark six decades as a band for the ‘SIXTY’ tour – with a new show and live production starting in Madrid on June 1 before heading to Munich, Liverpool, Amsterdam, Bern, Milan, London, Brussels, Vienna, Lyon, Paris, Gelsenkirchen and Stockholm.

Following on from their acclaimed USA ‘No Filter’ tour, ‘SIXTY’ will see Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood make their long-awaited return to the UK, performing at the home of Liverpool FC – Anfield, for the Stones’ first in Liverpool show for over 50 years, followed by two shows in London’s Hyde Park for British Summer Time Festival.

“Sorry to keep you all hanging around, but the waiting is over,” said Keith Richards of the news. “I’ve always said the best place for rock and roll is on being on stage with the Stones and this year is very special. Looking forward to rehearsing with Mick and Ronnie and some friends, the wheels are in motion. See you all very soon.”

Ronnie Wood meanwhile, added: “When I look out at the sea of people when we play in Europe all I can see is smiles. It’s heart-warming and I’m glad we make people happy every time we play live. Can’t wait to get on this brand-new stage with the boys and have some fun.”

The band will be joined by drummer Steve Jordan at all shows, following the sad death of Charlie Watts last year.

The Stones have a colorful history of performing at London’s Hyde Park. Their 1969 show Stones In The Park is known one of the most famous concerts of all time – with between 250,000 and half a million in attendance. They returned just once in 2013 to open BST Hyde Park with two sold-out shows to 130,000 fans, resulting in an award-winning concert film Sweet Summer Sun: Hyde Park Live, directed by Paul Dugdale.

Other acts confirmed for headline shows BST Hyde Park include Elton John, The Eagles, Adele, Pearl Jam, and Duran Duran.

CHVRCHES Announce New 2022 North American Tour Dates

9th March 2022 | Category: Concerts

CHVRCHES have revealed details of a huge new North American tour for 2022.

The Scottish trio are fresh off a three-song performance at last week’s BandLab NME Awards 2022 in London, where they performed with The Cure‘s Robert Smith.

After a UK tour that begins tomorrow (March 10), the band will head to the US and Mexico from the end of April, playing a host of shows that take them up until the end of June. The new headline dates begin in late May.

During their set at the BandLab NME Awards 2022, the band performed their track ‘Asking For A Friend’ from 2021 album ‘Screen Violence’ and then teamed up with Smith for a world exclusive live premiere of ‘How Not To Drown’. To cap the set off, they joined Smith in covering Cure classic ‘Just Like Heaven’.

After the performance, the band’s Martin Doherty described the experience to NME as “really, really scary,” adding: “Honestly, I’ve never practiced four notes so much in my life.”

Chvrches started working on their fourth album in February 2020. Doherty and Mayberry worked on the album from Los Angeles while Cook worked on the album from Glasgow. Chvrches started teasing the lead single for their fourth album, given the working title CHV4, on 9 April 2021. On 18 April 2021, Chvrches announced “He Said She Said” as the lead single for the album and it premiered on BBC Radio 1 on 19 April 2021.

A second single, “How Not to Drown”, featuring Robert Smith of the Cure, was released on 2 June 2021. The same day, the band announced their fourth album, Screen Violence, which was released on 27 August 2021. On 12 July 2021 they released the album’s third and final single, “Good Girls”. On 25 August 2021, the band performed “Good Girls” from the album Screen Violence on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Wet Leg Unveil Details of Winter UK Tour

8th March 2022 | Category: Concerts

Wet Leg have unveiled details of a winter UK and Ireland tour.

The Isle of Wight duo, made up of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, will kick off their series of live dates in Norwich before travelling to Bristol, Liverpool, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Nottingham and Belfast. The tour will come to a close in Dublin.

Wet Leg also announced that £1 from every ticket sold on the November UK tour will go directly to War Child’s Plus One, which will help support and improve the protection and care of children and young people who live with a combination of insecurity, poverty and exclusion in some of the worst conflict-affected places.

Last month, the band shared a new track called ‘Angelica’.

The group described the song, which is about Teasdale’s oldest friend, as a mixture of “the absurd”, “the sardonic”, “social angst” and “a a trippy, synth-kissed journey through parties and regrets.”

Teasdale added: “It’s laced with disenchantment. Even though the chorus is ‘good times, all the time’. That’s just impossible, isn’t it?”

The song will feature on ‘Wet Leg’, the group’s debut album which is set for release this April, alongside previous singles ‘Chaise Longue’, ‘Wet Dream’ and ‘Oh No’.
