Halsey Announces Love And Power US Tour

7th February 2022 | Category: Concerts

Halsey has announced their Love And Power tour in support of fourth album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. Support for the tour comes from Beabadoobee, PinkPantheress, Wolf Alice, Abby Roberts and The Marías.

Beabadoobee and PinkPantheress will provide support for all shows from May 17 to June 8, while The Marías and Abby Roberts will be at the gigs from June 16 to July 9. Wolf Alice will support Halsey on June 21 at the Hollywood Bowl in place of The Marías.

Kicking off May 17 at the iThink Financial Amphitheatre in Palm Beach, FL, the twenty-two date tour will include shows at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Governors Ball in New York, and the Hangout Music Festival alongside Doja Cat and Leon Bridges.

The Love And Power tour comes ahead of Halsey’s headline appearance at Reading & Leeds Festivals in August alongside Arctic Monkeys, Bring Me The Horizon, Dave, Megan Thee Stallion, and Rage Against The Machine.

Ahead of the tour, Halsey will win the Innovation Award at the BandLab NME Awards 2022, which they will pick up during a ceremony at the O2 Academy Brixton in London on March 2.

“I wasn’t expecting [this], I was very surprised,” Halsey said of hearing the news of the honour for the first time. “But it’s really, really awesome – I think you start to get really sad and nervous about how your music connects when you’re not around to bring it to life and to know that it’s still resonating is really, really cool.”

“From what I’ve seen, I’ll definitely need to learn how to hold my liquor,” she told NME. “The last thing I want to do is be the American lightweight who has two pints and is on the fucking floor.”

Halsey also recently revealed that their 2019 single ‘Nightmare’ originally featured a sample of Tatu’s iconic ‘All The Things She Said’.

The Black Keys Announce 2022 Tour

5th February 2022 | Category: Concerts

The Black Keys have announced details of their ‘Dropout Boogie’ US tour –  the duo’s first outing since their 2019 studio album Let’s Rock

Band of Horses will be supporting on all 32 dates of the expansive North American tour, with Ceramic Animal, Early James, and the Velveteers opening select performances.

The Live Nation produced tour kicks off July 9 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The Dropout Boogie tour will also be the band’s first dates following the release of their Grammy-nominated blues album Delta Kream last year.

Speaking to NME in May 2021 singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney shared that they created the album accidentally.

“I was just having such a good time making music with those guys that I called Pat [Carney, Black Keys drummer] up to see what he was doing,” explained Auerbach. “He cleared up his day and came over the next afternoon.”

“We were doing all these songs from memory,” added Auerbach of the intense session. “We just recorded this stuff for fun. We never even thought about it as being an album.”

Last year, The Black Keys celebrated the 10th anniversary of their renowned album El Camino with an expanded reissue. The record, which features some of the band’s biggest hits like ‘Lonely Boy’ and ‘Gold On The Ceiling’, was originally released on December 6, 2011.

Meanwhile, on March 4th, Band of Horses will return with their first new record in five years, Things Are Great.

Dorothy Returns With New Album and Tour

3rd February 2022 | Category: Concerts

Dorothy is back with a new single, “Rest in Peace,” as well as details on a new album, Gifts From the Holy Ghost, and a 2022 US tour.

While Gifts From the Holy Ghost has no release date yet, a press release reveals that the album will arrive this spring. The headlining tour, meanwhile, kicks off March 21st in San Diego and runs through a May 19th gig in Anaheim, California.

Dorothy says “Rest In Peace” is about “breaking free from oppression, burying demons and reclaiming sovereignty and power.”

Gifts From the Holy Ghost, due in the spring, will mark the band’s third studio album and follow-up to 2018’s 28 Days in the Valley. For recording, Dorothy tapped former Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Jason Hook, Breaking Benjamin’s Keith Wallen, Phil X, Scott Stevens, Trevor Lukather, Joel Hamilton and more. Chris Lord Alge produced the set.

“I think this album is going to speak to a lot of people, it’s meant to be healing, unifying, eye-opening, ear-opening, heart-opening and celebratory,” Dorothy adds. “I wanted to make the realest album I could make, and I went in with the question, ‘Does this make me feel alive? Does it make me feel free?’ If a song didn’t give me chills or make my heart soar, then it didn’t make the cut.”

In an interview with Loudwire, she revealed the name of the album came to her following an incident where she claimed to have witnessed her guitar tech die from a heroin overdose and then return to life.

“I come out and see him and he’s blue and green, and I knew he was dead at the moment. I just knew it, I don’t know if anyone’s had this experience. I’m pretty sure you know a dead body when you see one. […] I’m just sitting there breathing and holding hands with my sound engineer. I’m like, ‘Whoever’s out there, just send him back. Give him another chance.’ After a few moments of silence, this voice said to me, ‘Okay, we’re sending him back now.’ And then I open my eyes, all the color had returned to his skin. He opened his eyes, and he was alive, and I couldn’t believe it.”

Bleachers Announce 2022 Tour

2nd February 2022 | Category: Concerts

Bleachers have announced a lengthy run of North American tour dates, stretching into the second half of 2022.

Except for a brief detour through Barcelona for this year’s Primavera Sound festival, the band have 22 dates on their itinerary thus far. Each of the tour’s legs will feature unique support acts – Charly Bliss, for example, will open for the two sold-out dates in Boston where Bleachers will play their first two records in full (2014’s ‘Strange Desire’ on Thursday, March 24 and 2017’s ‘Gone Now’ on Friday 25).

Allison Ponthier will kick the festivities off throughout May, performing with Bleachers in Orlando, St. Petersburg, New Orleans, Austin, Houston, and Dallas. Also in May, Jack Antonoff and co. will play at the 2022 edition of Napa Valley’s BottleRock festival.

Before rolling through Nashville to play Bonnaroo and the Bonnaroo SuperJam, Bleachers will treat fans in Atlanta to a sole headline show supported by Blu DeTiger. After the festival, they’ll hit Morrison to play the Red Rocks Amphitheatre with Wolf Alice, before taking to stages in Vancouver, Seattle, Forest Grove, San Jose, and LA with The Lemon Twigs in tow.

Wrapping up the tour will be four dates in July, with shows booked for Portland, New York, Lewiston, and Cooperstown. Beabadoobee will support Bleachers at all of those gigs, performing tracks from her recent ‘Fake It Flowers’ album and ‘Our Extended Play’ EP.

Alongside the tour announcement came a new video for the track ‘How Dare You Want More’, comprising footage from Bleachers’ 2021 tour of the US. The track comes from their 2021 album ‘Take The Sadness Out Of Saturday Night’, which also spawned the singles ‘Chinatown’ (a landmark collab with Bruce Springsteen), ‘Stop Making This Hurt’ and the Lana Del Ray-featuring ‘Secret Life’.

Meanwhile, Jack Antonoff has confirmed that he plans to release the fourth Bleachers album by the end of 2022.

Christina Aguilera Announces 2022 UK Arena Tour

31st January 2022 | Category: Concerts

Christina Aguilera has announced details of a UK arena tour this summer. The singer will perform at Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena and The O2 in London in August.

The full list of dates is as follows:

AUGUST 2022

2 – Open Air Theatre, Scarborough

3 – M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool

5 – O2 Arena, London

Back in October, Aguilera shared new Spanish-language track ‘Pa Mis Muchachas’, which featured Becky G, Nicki Nicole, and Nathy Peluso.

Both ‘Somos Nada’ and ‘Pa Mis Muchachas’ appeared on Aguilera’s EP, ‘La Fuerza’, which is described as “honour[ing] her Latin roots”.

The star’s first Spanish-language album – the Latin Grammy-winning ‘Mi Reflejo’ – came out in 2000.

“It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for so many years,” Aguilera told People of her current project last summer, explaining that the material would “dive deeper into my roots”.

“I have an amazing team behind me that’s so supportive,” she continued. “I’ve been in music for a really long time, but there’s nothing like being around Latin musicians and artists, the energy they bring to the table, the love and the passion they just bring and exude.

Last week, Aguilera shared her “respect and admiration” for Britney Spears after she was criticised by the singer last year. Last year, Spears called out Aguilera for “refusing to speak” about her conservatorship during a red carpet interview.

On the red carpet at the Latin Grammys in November, Aguilera was asked about her thoughts on the end of the conservatorship by a journalist. When asked the question, Aguilera’s publicist interjected, saying: “No, we’re not doing that tonight. I’m sorry.”

In a new interview with Enrique Santos, Aguilera was asked whether she had spoken to Britney recently, to which she replied: “I mean I would love to, I would always be open to that.

“It’s a subject that I definitely want to be careful of because I’d never want to speak out of turn about somebody that I have so much respect and admiration for.”

Adding that she “couldn’t be happier” for Spears, Aguilera said: “Every woman deserves to feel empowered and to own that for themselves however they see fit.”
