TWICE Announce North American Dates for Upcoming 2022 World Tour

29th November 2021 | Category: Concerts

TWICE unveiled a poster containing details of their upcoming tour, which currently includes five North American shows. According to the poster, the girl group’s tour includes even more dates and shows, the details of which are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The girl group had first teased the tour at the end of the music video for their recently released English single, ‘The Feels’. The video ended on a shot of a poster that teased TWICE’s forthcoming activities, including the upcoming tour and their third studio album ‘Formula Of Love: O+T=<3’, which was released this month.

Titled ‘III’, the girl group’s fourth world tour will kick off in Seoul next month. Its North American leg begins in February 2022, with dates set across several US states.

See the full list of dates below:

December 2021

24, 25, 26 – Seoul, Olympic Park KSPO Dome

February 2022

16 – Los Angeles, The Forum

18 – Oakland, Oakland Arena

22 – Dallas, Dickies Arena

24 – Atlanta, State Farm Arena

On November 12, TWICE released their much-anticipated third studio album, ‘Formula Of Love: O+T=<3’. The 14-track record had dropped alongside a unique music video for its lead single ‘Scientist’, which follows the girl group hard at work in the “TWICE Love Lab”.

“The song says that love is not something you can calculate, study and try to find an answer to but is something you should follow with your heart,” Nayeon said in a press release, per Yonhap News Agency. “I hope you get a bit of strength and energy while listening to our music.”

The album also features “unit” tracks from TWICE, each sung by three members of the group. Jihyo, Sana, and Dahyun take on the upbeat and cheeky ‘Push & Pull’, while Nayeon, Momo, and Chaeyoung’s vocals take center stage on the laid-back ‘Hello’. Additionally, Jeongyeon, Mina, and Tzuyu team up on the Latin pop-inspired dance track ‘1, 3, 2.’

Greta Van Fleet To Launch Tour in 2022

17th November 2021 | Category: Concerts

Greta Van Fleet have announced a ‘Dreams In Gold’ tour for 2022. The shows will see the band perform tracks from their recent album ‘The Battle At Garden’s Gate’.

From March through June 2022, the tour includes the shows in the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, Europe and the UK, with two dates at Manchester’s O2 Apollo, along with a show at London’s Alexandra Palace and a concert in Dublin next June.

The press release said:

“Grammy-nominated group Rival Sons and critically acclaimed rising artist The Velveteers will support the North American shows. Tickets are on sale this Friday, November 12 at 10am local time at LiveNation.com. There will be a Fan Presale on November 10, and a Local Venue Presale on November 11.

“Strange Horizons, the band’s specialty events in 2021, saw sold-out shows in Nashville, Bridgeport, Chicago and Los Angeles. The group’s critically acclaimed album The Battle at Garden’s Gate was released earlier this year to extensive chart success and fanfare, debuting at #1 Billboard Rock Album, #1 Billboard Hard Rock Album, #1 Billboard Vinyl Album, #2 Billboard Top Album Sales and in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200.”

Meanwhile, frontman Josh Kiszka recently hit back at KISS frontman Gene Simmons after he suggested that rock music is “dead”.

“Maybe the world of rock [Gene] remembers is dead…I don’t know,” Josh told NME.

“I think rock ‘n’ roll is a very elastic genre, it’s a very eclectic genre. It seems like every once in a while, a generation reinterprets what that is.

“And I’ve heard a lot, throughout the years, I guess people blowing hot air about… I think rock ‘n’ roll can become dormant, but you can’t kill something that supersedes time. It’s an attitude and a spirit and a celebration. I think people pass the torch and time moves on,” the singer added.

He added: “I think there’s probably a lot of people that would disagree with him. Elton John is one, I’m sure. I’ve heard it come out of his mouth.”

Charli XCX Announces New Album and Tour

16th November 2021 | Category: Concerts

Charli XCX has announced her fifth album, tour dates and shares new single ‘New Shapes’.

The follow-up to last year’s How I’m Feeling Now is the pop star’s final album as part of her record deal with Atlantic Records. It is set to be released on March 18, 2022.

“Today I, the iconic global pop star Charli XCX, am announcing ‘CRASH’, my highly-anticipated forthcoming album,” Charli said in a statement.

“I was able to possess and persuade an incredible group of producers and collaborators to contribute to ‘CRASH’ by using my femme fatale powers and a multitude of dark spells and curses.”

The album’s contributors include: A.G. Cook, George Daniel, Deaton Chris Anthony, Lotus IV, Caroline Polachek, Christine And The Queens, Oscar Holter, Digital Farm Animals, Rina Sawayama, Ian Kirkpatrik, Jason Evigan, Justin Raisen, Ariel Rechtshaid, Ilya, Oneohtrix Point Never, Jon Shave and Mike Wise.

News of the album comes alongside the release of Charli’s brand new single,.

It follows September’s ‘Good Ones’, the first single of a “new chapter” that “embraces all that my life has to offer in today’s world – fame, glamour, inner demons and global hits”, Charli said at the time of release.

Charli has previously worked with Christine And The Queens on 2019’s ‘Gone’, which featured on her third album ‘Charli’. Meanwhile, Polachek featured on two ‘Pop 2’ tracks; ‘Tears’ and ‘Delicious’.

In addition, Charli has also revealed a 2022 European and North American tour, with shows in Los Angeles, London, Paris and more.

Last month, Charli indicated what fans could expect from her upcoming album, telling InStyle the record is “kind of all about sex and sexuality” and “can make people dance and cry at the same time”.

The singer elaborated on those comments a week later, telling fans they can expect “an overload of sexiness” during a recent appearance on The Chart Show on Apple Music 1.

JoJo to Head Out on UK and European Headline Tour in 2022

13th November 2021 | Category: Concerts

JoJo has announced a huge headline tour for 2022 that will include a run of UK and European dates.

The R&B singer-songwriter released her capsule project ‘Trying Not to Think About It’ last month. She explained that ‘Trying Not To Think About It’ “is a result of feeling sooooo lost, scared, and confused at the end of 2020 – desperate to believe in/find my light once again”.

“Sometimes we feel like we’re the only ones. But we NEVER are alone in our darkness,” she continued. “If you listen, I hope this project makes you feel seen, validated, not crazy, and hopeful that you won’t feel bad forever. You’re more in control than you think.”

The project was followed up with a series of sold out intimate tour dates.

On the heels of both, JoJo has unveiled a heavily packed tour schedule for next year, starting in North America in February and taking in 15 UK and European shows throughout May.

The news comes after JoJo had planned to embark on a UK and European headline tour this year, but in January cancelled the dates due to coronavirus concerns.

“Performing live is one of my favourite parts of being an artist,” JoJo said in a statement. “It felt so right being back onstage for those dates in October, and I can’t wait to do it on a bigger scale in more cities next year!”

The ‘Leave (Get Out)’ singer initially sued her former label Blackground Records and its imprint Da Family Records over a dispute about her recording contract in 2009. JoJo was finally released from the contract in late 2013 after a settlement was finally agreed following another lawsuit, marking the end of a four-year spell in which the singer had been unable to release new music and her back catalogue was unavailable to stream or purchase.

JoJo, who has just released her latest solo album ‘Good To Know’, rerecorded her masters and re-released her first two albums in 2018 after starting her own company Clove Music to help “change the narrative”.

Back in May 2020, JoJo opened up about the support she received from Taylor Swift during the protracted legal battle she had with her former record label several years ago.

“I was literally being completely silenced,” she explained. “Taylor is in a different position in her career. I was really sidelined, and it was pretty hurtful.”

Alt-J Share 2022 North American Tour Dates

12th November 2021 | Category: Concerts

Alt-J have announced a North American headline tour for 2022, which will kick off in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 25.

The band has also announced their fourth album ‘The Dream’ and shared its first track, ‘U&ME’

The single is described as the trio’s “most honest song to date” and arrives with an accompanying music video, directed by Prosper Unger-Hamilton, the brother of band member Gus.

“It’s about being at a festival with your best friends, having a good time, togetherness, and the feeling in life that nothing could be any better than it is right now,” Gus explained of ‘U&ME’.

The track emerged during soundchecks for Alt-J shows across the globe, with frontman Joe Newman saying that it then “gathered momentum on its own”.

As for Alt-J’s upcoming album, ‘The Dream’ presents “both beauty and darkness […] often seamlessly merging on the same track, a purposeful choice that pays dividends across the record”.

The project will feature “true-crime inspired stories and tales of Hollywood and the Chateau Marmont”, while offering fans some of the trio’s “more personal moments to-date”.

‘The Dream’ is set for release on February 11.

More recently, Alt-J have also shared a poignant new song called ‘Get Better’. The song is accompanied by an animated music video, created by Stefanie Grunwald, an award-winning pixel artist who is based in Hamburg.

The visuals and lyrics depict a person longing for a loved one to get better, and the subsequent coming to terms with their loss. The track also pays tribute to frontline workers during the pandemic.

In a press release, Newman said of the track:

“‘Get Better’ is the union of two songs. The first was an improvised song I sang in 2018 to my partner who was suffering from period pain. To her I sang ‘Get better my Darcy, I know you can’. She filmed it and I kept revisiting the fragment with a plan to write more.

“The second was a chord structure I worked on in lockdown that focused on someone living through a bereavement. I felt a nervous heat when writing ‘Get Better’. The context of the coronavirus pandemic lent my words a chilling weight and gave me a new sense of responsibility as a lyricist. Whilst the direct events described are fictional, I believe – or I hope – that it’s emotionally the most honest song I’ve written.”

Keyboardist Gus Unger-Hamilton added: “When Joe first played it to me I didn’t just get a bit tearful, I broke down. A big, big cry. A cry of the year.”

The band have also confirmed a slew of tour dates due to take place in the UK and Ireland next year.
