Teyana Taylor Announces Her Final Tour Before Retirement

30th September 2021 | Category: Concerts

Teyana Taylor has announced plans for her final tour before retirement.

The singer took to Instagram to announce ‘The Last Rose Petal Tour’, a 12-city farewell jaunt that kicks off in San Francisco on November 7.

“How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard,” she wrote. “However for every goodbye God makes the next hello closer. Come out and watch me, leave it all out on the stage… One last time… Just for you & as my last rose petal falls, I say farewell.”

Last year, following her third release ‘The Album’, Taylor announced she was retiring from music. However, later she clarified that the announcement was a “warning” to her record label, saying “I constantly feel alone, I’m constantly feel under-appreciated, I constantly feel failed…there is literally no push.”

But earlier this year she confirmed to Cam Newton’s BET series Sip ‘N Smoke, that she was retiring for good.

“At the end of the day, I’m a mom first,” she explained. “A mom, a wife, a woman. And I think for me, I put in a lot of work. I work very, very hard. So, If you feel unheard and unseen-like how I said earlier with my husband. He sees me, he hears me.

“I take that sh*t serious. Everything I do. So if you’re my husband or I’m signed, everybody that I’m aligned with should see me. They should hear me. They should feel me. If you don’t see me, hear me, or feel me, it’s a dub for you.”

Ghost and Volbeat Announce Joint US Tour for 2022

29th September 2021 | Category: Concerts

Two of Scandinavia’s biggest rock bands, the theatrical Swedish metallers Ghost and Denmark’s Volbeat, have announced a joint tour of the US next year.

The shows, which will see the two bands supported by ‘Satanic doo wop’ outfit Twin Temple, begin in January 2022 and run until early March.

“We are so incredibly excited to get back to these cities with a Volbeat headline show, but getting to do it alongside a headline show from our goulish friends in Ghost AND bringing the incomparable Twin Temple with us? How soon will it be January already!? Start getting ready, the thunder and lightning is coming to your town in 2022,” said Volbeat in a statement.

Ghost had teased the forthcoming announcement of a tour with a video, in which the band’s Papa Emeritus IV takes part in a ‘Doom’ (a parody of Zoom) call with Sister Imperator.

A new album from Ghost is expected in the coming months. Last year frontman Tobias Forge said that they were planning on entering the studio at the beginning of 2021, with the aim of releasing their fifth LP towards the end of the year.

Forge added that the release would coincide with a new tour and that no album would be released until it is safe to resume touring following the coronavirus pandemic.

For Volbeat, this will mark their second major headlining touring leg in nearly two years. The band is heading stateside later this week to kick off the “Wait a Minute … Let’s Tour” trek.

James Blake Announces ‘Friends That Break Your Heart’ 2022 Tour

25th September 2021 | Category: Concerts

James Blake has announced the UK and European tour in support of his forthcoming new album called Friends That Break Your Heart.

The tour will take in a series of dates in Glasgow, Manchester and Sheffield, as well as a gig at London’s Alexandra Palace.

Blake’s dates kick off on April 30, 2022 at the O2 Academy in Glasgow before wrapping up at Alexandra Palace on May 17, 2022.

This month, Blake released his latest song ‘Famous Last Words‘. It follows last month’s ‘Life Is Not The Same‘ and July’s ‘Say What You Will‘.

James – who is in a relationship with actress Jameela Jamil – recently shared how ‘Say What You Will’ is about “finding peace” within himself.

He said: “The song is about finding peace with who you are and where you’re at regardless of how well other people seem to be doing.

“Comparison really is the thief of joy.”

The music video for the song featured a special guest appearance from Finneas.

The multi-instrumentalist and producer’s fifth album is set for release on October 8 via Polydor. It was recently pushed back from its original September 10 release due to vinyl pressing delays amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blake’s first full-length album in two years will include guest appearances from SZA, JID & SwaVay, and Monica Martin.

Blake recently said that he wants to make “plenty more” music with Dave.

The musician contributed vocals and production Dave’s latest record, We’re All Alone In This Together, which came out this summer and followed on from the rapper’s 2019 debut Psychodrama.

“I think [Dave] kind of wanted me to executive produce the record, but in the end he was making all the decisions,” Blake told GQ. “Halfway through the record I was like: ‘Hold on, you’re exec producing this and you’re brilliant at it, so let’s just finish it off.’”

Mastodon and Opeth Join Forces For 2021 US Tour

20th September 2021 | Category: Concerts

Mastodon and Opeth have just announced a massive 2021 U.S. tour with Zeal & Ardor supporting.

Mastodon will be touring in support of their upcoming album Hushed & Grim, which will hit shelves right in time for Halloween on October 29. Zeal & Ardor have been steadily releasing singles for their self-titled third studio album, which is due out Feb. 11, 2022. Opeth’s most recent release was the lauded In Cauda Venenum back in 2019.

The three-week bill will begin Nov. 14 at the Welcome to Rockville festival in Florida and finish up Dec. 5 in Denver, Colorado.

Hushed and Grim, is Mastodon’s ninth studio album, which the band described as their “most ambitious body of work to date”.

The new double-disc record – which is the Atlanta metallers’ first since 2017’s Emperor of Sand – is louded by guitarist Bill Kelliher to be their “biggest-sounding” LP yet.

“We all just kind of [went into it] with open minds,” he said in an interview earlier this year. “The result is amazing. It’s the fullest, biggest-sounding record we’ve done so far.”

According to the press release, the 15-tracks and two discs album will be a notably experimental record.  It sees the band “surveying sonic landscapes of rock, psychedelia, punk, metal, alternative, and prog threaded together by the innately expressive musical interplay of these four virtuosic musicians”.

Produced by Tool, Rush, and Muse collaborator David Bottrill, the record is supposedly “steeped in one of the darkest periods of [Mastodon’s] career as each member [experienced] personal grief”.

Dua Lipa Announces 2022 Tour With Special Guests Megan Thee Stallion And Caroline Polachek

17th September 2021 | Category: Concerts

Dua Lipa has announced details of a 2022 ‘Future Nostalgia’ US tour, featuring support acts including Megan Thee Stallion and Caroline Polachek.

The dates, on the back of Dua’s hugely successful second album from 2020, begin in early February before running through until the start of April.

Megan Thee Stallion will support the singer at dates in Denver, Tulsa and Phoenix in mid-March, while Polachek will support on every date and Lolo Zouaï will play most of the dates.

“I’m so thrilled to tour again and see my angels in person! How amazing that we all get to dance and celebrate together once again,” Dua said in a statement.

“When I was writing ‘Future Nostalgia’ I imagined the songs being played in clubs on nights out with your mates. I’m so excited that this fantasy is finally coming true. I can’t wait to experience these songs with you together live!”

Dua Lipa released the acclaimed ‘Future Nostalgia’ in March 2020, while an accompanying remix album with The Blessed Madonna followed that August.

Since then, the singer was revealed as the most-played UK artist of last year. The music licensing company PPL revealed their ‘Most Played Charts’ for 2020, with Lipa ranking first in their list of the most-played artists in the UK.

A UK and European tour for ‘Future Nostalgia’ is set to follow the US run, beginning in mid-April and running until June.

The singer was originally set to hit the road in the UK in May 2020 before the dates were pushed back to January 2021 as the coronavirus hit last spring.

Last October, the dates were rescheduled once again to September and October this year, but with restrictions continuing in the UK the shows will now take place in spring of 2022.
