BADBADNOTGOOD Share New Single ‘Beside April’ and US Tour Dates

16th September 2021 | Category: Concerts

BADBADNOTGOOD have released another track from their new album called Talk Memory.

“There was really special energy around this video,” says director Camille Summers-Valli. “The band wanted to do something with horses and equestrians. That’s where this begun. Funnily enough, I am petrified of horses. But it felt like a good way to overcome my fears. Subconsciously through a process of reading, finding references and discussing with my team, I started to piece together the puzzle of what this video could be. We shot this in Georgia; where the casting was incredible. The horse also was wonderful. So strong and majestic, we just wanted to do this beautiful creature justice. The magic aligned, so many great hard working people pulled this video together.”

“Beside April” follows “Sending Signals” which will be featured on the band’s upcoming sixth studio album, Talk Memory. Speaking of the new LP, the band explain how “It took a year or two of just living life to get to the place where the creative process was exciting again and once we actually went in to the studio it was the most concise recording and writing process we’ve ever had. We hope that the improvised studio performances bring the listener closer to our live experience.”

BADBADNOTGOOD have also just announced a North American tour for 2022, that includes stops in Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, NYC, DC, Philly, Atlanta, Austin, Dallas and Houston.

Elton John to Headline BST Hyde Park in 2022 for Final London Date on Farewell Tour

15th September 2021 | Category: Concerts

Elton John will headline BST Hyde Park in 2022 as part of his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour – his final ever series of live shows. John will be performing on June 24 2022 on what could be his final ever London tour date.

Jim King, CEO of European Festivals at AEG said: “BST Hyde Park has always stood for the world’s biggest and most loved artists bringing not just a performance but a truly one-off and memorable event.

“Elton John has provided the soundtrack to the lives of so many of us and to know that his last tour is coming to Hyde Park, possibly the last time many of us will ever see him play, is one of the most important and ‘must see’ nights of BST Hyde park ever.”

This September, John announced the release of a new collaboration album called The Lockdown Sessions. The diverse 16-track collection – 10 of which are brand new and previously unreleased – celebrates togetherness and sees John collaborating with a wide range of artists.

Some of those involve include Lil Nas X, Dua Lipa, Eddie Vedder, Miley Cyrus, Gorillaz, Young Thug, Andrew Watt, Brandi Carlile, Stevie Wonder, and more. The album also features John’s recently released collaboration with Dua Lipa, ‘Cold Heart’.

Recorded over the last 18 months, work on the singer’s 32nd studio album – which is due to arrive on October 22 – began after he was forced to pause his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The last thing I expected to do during lockdown was make an album,” John said in a statement. “But, as the pandemic went on, one‐off projects kept cropping up.”

“Some of the recording sessions had to be done remotely, via Zoom, which I’d obviously never done before,” John said of how he recorded the project. “Some of the sessions were recorded under very stringent safety regulations: working with another artist, but separated by glass screens.

“But all the tracks I worked on were really interesting and diverse, stuff that was completely different to anything I’m known for, stuff that took me out of my comfort zone into completely new territory.”

Kacey Musgraves Unveils “Star-Crossed” Tour

2nd September 2021 | Category: Concerts

Kacey Musgraves has announced a string of North American tour dates for 2022 in support of her forthcoming album ‘star-crossed’.

The musician will make her return with the follow-up to Golden Hour next week (September 10).

Next January, Musgraves will then hit the road in the US and Canada, kicking off the tour in St Paul, Minnesota on January 19 and continuing on to a final show in LA on February 20. She will be supported by King Princess and MUNA across all dates.

Last week (August 23), Musgraves announced the release of her new album star-crossed and an accompanying film of the same name. The record will be “structured as a modern-day tragedy in three acts” and “tells an extremely personal journey of heartache and healing”, according to a press release.

She also shared the title track from the record on the same day and followed it up on Friday (August 27) with new single ‘justified’. The video for the track saw the musician take a road trip as she sang about how “healing doesn’t happen in a straight line”.

Musgraves’ new album follows 2018’s Golden Hour — a critical and commercial triumph that won the Grammy for Album of the Year. “star-crossed” also appears to be heavily informed by Musgraves’ 2020 divorce from singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly.

Musgraves will also perform ‘star-crossed at the VMAs joining fellow artists Lil Nas X, Lorde, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Chlöe, Olivia Rodrigo, Machine Gun Kelly, Twenty One Pilots, and Doja Cat who will also host the show.

The ticket info for her upcoming shows is available here.

The Script Announce 2022 Tour for UK and Europe

31st August 2021 | Category: Concerts

The Script have announced a 37-date run of headline shows for the UK and Europe, set to kick off next February.

The acclaimed folk-rockers will be hitting the road in support of their forthcoming compilation Tales From The Script which is due to be released on October 1.

In addition to the new single ‘I Want It All’, the 17-track release features a slate of the band’s most popular songs, drawing from all six of their studio albums. It also includes an acoustic version of the track ‘Never Seen Anything “Quite Like You”’, pulled from their 2018 Acoustic Sessions EP.

About ‘I Need It All’, guitarist Mark Sheehan says “delivers all of the components everybody is aware of and loves” about The Script.

In a press release, frontman Danny O’Donoghue noted that Tales From The Script is “a springboard to our next chapter, but it’s also our story so far”. On the topic of next year’s arena tour, he said “we’re so excited to be taking it on the road. I know I’m gonna lose it on stage, night after night”.

Drummer/bassist Glen Power added: “We’re taking all the best songs and playing them all together in one place. It will turn it into a celebration that we’ve survived and we’ve all got through to this moment together.”

Split into two legs, the Greatest Hits Tour will begin with a European stretch, set to kick off in France on Monday February 21, wrapping up in Spain on Friday March 18. With support from Ella Henderson, the tour will pick back up for the UK run starting on Sunday May 15, wrapping up a month later with two shows in Dublin across 14-15 June.

Before their Greatest Hits Tour kicks off, The Script will perform a one-off show in St Austell as part of the rescheduled Eden Sessions series, taking place on Friday September 17.

The Rolling Stones to Continue US Tour as Planned Despite Charlie Watts’ Death

30th August 2021 | Category: Concerts

The Rolling Stones will move forward with their ‘No Filter’ U.S. tour later this year as planned, despite the death of drummer Charlie Watts earlier this week.

“The Rolling Stones’ tour dates are moving ahead as planned,” said promoter Concerts West in a statement (via Consequence of Sound).

The run was originally set for 2020, but the dates were postponed due to the pandemic. Shortly after the new dates were unveiled, the Stones announced that doctors had advised the 80-year-old Watts to sit out the upcoming gigs after having a “procedure” performed recently. The drummer was told he needed “proper rest and recuperation.”

In lieu of this, Watts named 64-year-old Steve Jordan (The Blues Brothers, B.B. King, Bruce Spingsteen, Cat Stevens, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Beyoncé, LeAnn Rimes, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars and more) as his fill-in.

“For once my timing has been a little off. I am working hard to get fully fit but I have today accepted on the advice of the experts that this will take a while. After all the fans’ suffering caused by COVID, I really do not want the many RS fans who have been holding tickets for this tour to be disappointed by another postponement or cancellation. I have therefore asked my great friend Steve Jordan to stand in for me,” said Watts in a statement released on Aug. 5.

Jordan, at the time, added, “It is an absolute honor and a privilege to be Charlie’s understudy and I am looking forward to rehearsing with Mick, Keith and Ronnie. No-one will be happier than me to give up my seat on the drum riser as soon as Charlie tells me he is good to go.”

Sadly, Watts died on Aug. 24 and was remembered warmly in countless tributes from his peers who counted him as a major inspiration and influence, reflected on his gentlemanly nature and made note of his impeccable skills behind the kit.

Singer Mick Jagger and guitarists Ronnie Wood, who beat cancer for a second time last year, and Keith Richards all honored their late bandmate, who joined the group in 1963 and had been there ever since, in their own tributes.
