Kings Of Leon Announce US 2021 Tour Beginning in August

25th May 2021 | Category: Concerts

Kings Of Leon have announced a nationwide tour of America set to kick off in August of this year.

The tour, which will see the band play 26 shows in 25 cities, is in support of their latest album, ‘When You See Yourself’.

Kings Of Leon will be playing shows until early October, including two nights at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater and a set at Eddie Vedder‘s Ohana Festival in Dana Point, California.

Kings of Leon released When You See Yourself, their eighth studio album, in March. This is the band’s first album in five years, following on from the release of 2016’s ‘Walls’. They made history by releasing “When You See Yourself” in the form of a non-fungible token, becoming the first band to do so. The group made three different types of tokens available: One was a special album package, another offered live show perks, and a third featured exclusive audiovisual art. The band ultimately generated over £1.4million ($2million) in sales. The album was one of the first major records to be released as a collection of NFTs upon its release back in March.

It was also the band’s sixth consecutive album to hit Number One on the UK charts, a streak that began with 2007’s ‘Because Of The Times’.

In a four-star review, NME said of ‘When You See Yourself’:

“Kings Of Leon spend the whole album toying with what fans might expect – and clearly have great fun doing so.

“If there was a hump between 2011’s dreary ‘Come Around Sundown’ and 2016’s poppy ‘WALLS’, they’re long past it now. We’ll be seeing the Kings for a long time to come – and if every next album is like this one, that’s a cause for celebration.”

Torres Announces New Album ‘Thirstier’ with New Single and UK Tour Dates

22nd May 2021 | Category: Concerts

Torres aka Mackenzie Scott has shared details of a new album called ‘Thirstier’ and a tour in support of it.

‘Thirstier’ is Mackenzie Scott’s second album on Merge Records, following last year’s ‘Silver Tongue’, and will come out on July 30.

“I’ve been conjuring this deep, deep joy that I honestly didn’t feel for most of my life,” Scott said of the new album in a statement. “I feel like a rock within myself. And I’ve started to feel that I have what it takes to help other people conjure their joy, too.”

She added: “I wanted to channel my intensity into something that felt positive and constructive, as opposed to being intense in a destructive or eviscerating way. I love the idea that intensity can actually be something life-saving or something joyous.”

Of new single ‘Don’t Go Puttin Wishes in My Head’, she said: “It’s my relentless arena country star moment—my shameless Tim McGraw cheeseball hit.”

The musician is set to tour ‘Thirstier’ around the US in the second half of 2021, with a UK tour following early next year.

Torres has been releasing music since 2013 and has four studio albums under her belt already.

Her debut self-titled album received favorable reviews from Beats Per Minute, Pitchfork, and Metacritic. Music website Pitchfork Media named Torres’s debut single, “Honey,” best new track, describing it as “an arena-rock moment happening on an empty stage […] with its slow-burn intensity and coiled energy.” Following the release of the album, Pitchfork gave the debut Torres album an 8.1 rating calling the record “an overwhelming rush of feeling […] that connects with throat-seizing immediacy.”

The singer/songwriter toured extensively alongside notable acts including Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, Okkervil River, Sharon Van Etten, and Hamilton Leithauser.

Evanescence and Halestorm Team Up for Late 2021 Tour Dates

21st May 2021 | Category: Concerts

Evanescence and Halestorm will be hitting the road together before the year’s end. The two acts have announced a late year tour taking place in November and December.

The trek gets underway Nov. 5 in Portland, Ore. and wraps in Worcester, Mass. a little over a month later on Dec. 18 taking both bands right into the midst of the holiday season.

The two bands have remained friendly over the years with Amy Lee guesting on Lzzy Hale’s Raise Your Horns podcast last year to sing “Break In” and Hale turning up with backing vocals on Evanescence’s “Use My Voice” song from their new album. So this tour pairing could also provide a chance for the two powerhouse vocalists to unite onstage again.

Amy Lee said of the upcoming tour::

“Words can’t express how excited we are to go back on tour with our friends and rock out again. We’ve been building this new music in isolation for over a year and dreaming of what it will be like to finally play it live, and to experience it together with our fans for the first time. We can’t wait to see you there!”

Lzzy Hale added:

“We have all been mourning the loss of live music, and patiently waiting, looking toward an uncertain future. Finally the future looks bright and I can’t think of a better way to break the silence than with our dear friends in Evanescence. I can only imagine how it will feel to step on stage again night after night, and reconnect with all of the fans whom I’ve missed so much. Get ready for intense emotions, loud performances, and a newly exhilarated energy unlike any tour we’ve experienced in the past. Looking forward to seeing you all!”

Evanescence have a new album “The Bitter Truth” out and Halestorm are currently working on new music.

Korn Announce Summer 2021 U.S. Tour With Staind

21st May 2021 | Category: Concerts

Korn have announced a U.S. tour for 2021 with Staind, who will be joining them for all dates.

“Beyond excited to announce our return to live music this summer in the U.S. with special guest, @Staind,” the band said in a tweet.

The 28-date run will begin in early August in West Palm Beach, Fla., and will end in Dallas toward the end of September. In select cities, they’ll also be joined by ’68 and Fire From the Gods.

Korn is also scheduled to play the Upheaval Festival on July 16 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Rock Fest on July 17 in Cadott, Wisconsin. The band has also been announced as one of the headliners for the 2021 installment of Kentucky’s Louder Than Life Festival. Held in the city of Louisville over four days,  the festival boasts a plethora of other big-name rock and metal acts such as Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction, Judas Priest, Rise Against, Cypress Hill, Machine Gun Kelly, and Mudvayne, who have been on hiatus since 2010. Heavy metal icons Metallica will also be performing two different sets across two separate nights of the festival.

In addition to the main acts, the lineup also features Anthrax, Asking Alexandria, Gojira, Pennywise, Seether, Ghostemane, Escape The Fate, Beartooth, and many more.

Korn’s latest studio release is 2019’s “The Nothing”, however, frontman Jonathan Davis has confirmed that the band finished writing its follow-up a couple of weeks ago.

Back in March 2020, the band had just finished up a US tour with alt-metallers Breaking Benjamin – and then the pandemic cut short chances to give their 2019 album, ‘The Nothing’ a proper headline tour.

Staind also have new music underway. After reuniting in 2019 and playing a handful of shows, vocalist Aaron Lewis just recently confirmed that he believes their new album will be out sometime in 2022 — which will be their first new record since 2011’s Staind.

Korn ticket details can be found here.

Glass Animals Reveal 2021 North American ‘Dreamland’ Tour Dates and Reschedule EU Dates for 2022

20th May 2021 | Category: Concerts

Glass Animals have announced North American stops for their ‘Dreamland’ tour. Also, they’ve confirmed rescheduled EU dates for 2022.

The band’s tour in support of 2020 album ‘Dreamland’ will now kick off in the United States this August and have a break in October after a stop in Santa Barbara, California. Glass Animals will then return to the UK to perform, and head back to North America in March 2022 for a month of shows. They will then hop over to Europe in May.

While in the US, Glass Animals will play a few festival slots: Bonnaroo, Life Is Beautiful and Outside Lands.

The ‘Dreamland’ tour was originally planned to launch this month, culminating in an engagement at London’s Alexandra Palace. Due to continued coronavirus restrictions in the UK, these domestic shows are now scheduled for November.

Glass Animals have shared a new video for ‘Space Ghost Coast To Coast’.

Singer Dave Bayley says of the video:

“‘Space Ghost’ is about someone I knew growing up in Texas… we drifted apart when I moved away at 13, but I found out a few years later he did something truly awful.

“The lyrics of the track are just wondering what makes someone change so much from being an innocent kid to someone who can even consider doing what he did. It talks about how in the 2000’s, violent video games and lyrics were blamed by the media for that type of misbehaviour in teenagers… but really I think there were much bigger societal problems at play.

“The video is a twist on those video games. Every video we have made in the last year has been made in peak lockdown… we had to get creative. In this case, Max came up with the idea that he could film me dancing in the park while sitting in his apartment. He was giving me direction the whole time via phone in my earbuds. It starts there and gets more and more surreal ha.”
