Ashnikko to go on a UK and Ireland tour for December 2021

20th May 2021 | Category: Concerts

Ashnikko has announced a new run of live dates in the UK and Ireland.

The ‘Demidevil’ singer will stop off in London, Manchester, Dublin and Glasgow throughout December.

Ashnikko announced the news of the tour on Instagram with the caption:

“I’m going on a real life physical in person live tour around North America, UK and Ireland.

“Going to cry so hard when we finally meet in real life I can’t f**king wait,” she added.

The announcement of the tour comes days after her live-streamed show in LA, which NME hailed for delivering “empowerment anthems performed inside pop’s brightest imagination”.

“In that space, the star puts on a masterclass. Not only does she create something unique and individual in a format that has its limitations and can quickly become tired, she also straddles the line between compelling entertainment and saying something powerful,” NME wrote of the show.

“One minute Ashnikko’s riding a pink bear with giant cyclops eye as she giddily performs restless new single ‘Tantrum’, the next she’s delivering an impassioned sermon on consent.”

The bubblepunk pop star released her debut mixtape ‘Demidevil’, back in January.

Her song “Cry”, which features Canadian musician Grimes, was released in June 2020, alongside an animated music video. The song’s music video was nominated for “Best Pop Video – UK” at the 2020 UK Music Video Awards. Following this, “Daisy” was released in July 2020, and a music video for the song was released in collaboration with Beats by Dre and TikTok a month later.

“Daisy” became Ashnikko’s breakthrough hit, charting internationally in countries including Australia, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. It reached a peak of number 24 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming her first charting and first top 40 hit in the UK.

Both of the songs appear on the artist’s debut mixtape. Meanwhile, “Deal with It” featuring Kelis and “Slumber Party” featuring Princess Nokia served as the third and fourth singles from the mixtape, respectively.

“A debut album proper in all but name, in fact, ‘Demidevil’ shows that Ashnikko’s far more than a two-trend wonder – with a tank full of intriguing bangers that evade living under ‘Daisy’s formidable shadow,” NME wrote of the album.

Alice Cooper to Lead Star-Studded 2022 Monsters of Rock Cruise

16th May 2021 | Category: Concerts

“The Monsters of Rock” are set to cruise again. Promoter On the Blue’s at-sea concert series will be headlined by Alice Cooper for a 10th-anniversary voyage on Feb. 9-14, 2022, from Miami to ports in the Bahamas’ CocoCay and Haiti’s Labadee.

The slate of more than 35 other artists will take the stage aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas. This includes Queensryche, Tom Keifer of Cinderella, Skid Row, L.A. Guns, Kix, Winger, Great White, Pat Travers, Y&T, Faster Pussycat and onetime Motley Crue singer John Corabi, among others. Along with the regularly scheduled shows, fans can take part in artist/cruiser Q&A sessions, cooking and painting demonstrations with the stars, beach volleyball and games like “Gong Show Karaoke” and “So You Think You Can Shred.” There will also be theme nights and opportunities to dine with and take photos alongside selected acts.

Cooper’s newest album is a musical homage to his hometown titled “Detroit Stories”. The project, which features all surviving members of the original Alice Cooper band, emerged after he battled with COVID-19 last December. Recently, he has spoken in more detail about the effects of his illness.

“All it really did with me was it knocked me out,” Cooper told Good Day Rochester in a new Blabbermouth interview. “For three weeks, I felt like I went 12 rounds with [boxing legend] Roberto Duran; I was just beat up.”

“And then every day, you feel a little bit better, then you feel a little bit better, feel a little bit better, and after about a month, you start feeling pretty good. And so now I’m a walking antibody.”

Cooper revealed back in February that he had received his vaccination alongside his wife, Sheryl, and urges everyone to do the same.

“We already had Covid but we’re getting vaccinated anyway,” Cooper said. “Everyone out here has been really nice and you don’t feel like you’re in danger of anything. So come on out. If you haven’t been vaccinated, come on out.”

More recently, Cooper headlined his own Coopstock benefit in April at Mesa, Ariz.

The Beach Boys to Perform at New Bridgeport Amphitheater in August

15th May 2021 | Category: Concerts

The Beach Boys will be performing at the new Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater on August 29 as part of their 2021 Feel Flows World Tour. The show joins the previously-announced Brothers Osborne concert in the 2021 summer lineup.

Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals will open for The Beach Boys.

In February, Hartford Healthcare purchased the naming rights to the amphitheater after initially going by the name of the Harbor Yard Amphitheater.

The Beach Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide and have received more than 33 Platinum and Gold record awards. The legendary rockers redefined the surfer rock genre. This year marks 60 years since the Beach Boys began in Hawthorne, California, and recorded their first song, “Surfin.’”

In 2012, the surviving members of the Beach Boys — Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, and David Marks — put aside decades of bad blood to record a new album and launch a long 50th-anniversary tour that had them playing their classics at venues from New Orleans JazzFest to London’s Royal Albert Hall.

“The tour… blew away all my expectations,” Brian Wilson said afterward. “We had a blast, the fans were so supportive and I loved being able to record and sing with the guys.”

They have made very few joint appearances since splitting, though they all did reunite for a one-off Q&A session moderated by director Rob Reiner at Capitol Records in Los Angeles in 2018.

The upcoming shows will not feature founding members Brian Wilson and Al Jardine.

Back in February, The Beach Boys have rescheduled their tour to spring and summer 2021.

Tickets for many of the dates, including the August 29 performance are available here.

Bad Bunny Announces 2022 US Tour Details

19th April 2021 | Category: Concerts

Bad Bunny has announced a 2022 tour, “El Último Tour del Mundo”, named after his 2020 album of the same name. This was his third solo studio album and fourth overall, released on November 27, 2020, by Rimas Entertainment, only nine months after the release of his previous record “YHLQMDLG”, which achieved both commercial success and critical acclaim.

Comprising sixteen tracks, it is primarily a Latin trap and reggaeton album infused with a variety of rock music styles, and features guest appearances from Jhay Cortez, Rosalía and Abra. The album’s title refers to how Bad Bunny imagined what his last concert tour would look like, as he imagined his final tour in the year 2032. The album was written and recorded during the COVID-19 quarantine and is a departure from Bad Bunny’s aggressive reggaetón sound. It became the first all-Spanish-language album to reach number one on the US Billboard 200.

Starting on February 9, Bad Bunny will stop in Denver, Houston, Dallas, San Diego, Los Angeles, Inglewood, Portland, Seattle, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Newark , Brooklyn, Boston, Washington DC, Orlando, and more, with the tour wrapping up in Miami on April 1.

The tour announcement came after his WrestleMania 37 bout, where he went up against The Miz and John Morrison in a tag-team match with Damian Priest. ESPN called it “one of, if not the, most impressive showings by a celebrity in the ring,” writing:

“Bad Bunny may well be done with the WWE after Saturday night, but after his performance he would certainly be welcomed back with open arms. If WWE can find the right moment, it would be silly not to bring him back. Priest looked great and got a great showcase in his first WrestleMania match, too.”

Julien Baker Plots 2022 UK and European Tour

15th April 2021 | Category: Concerts

Julien Baker has announced a UK and European tour for 2022. The US artist will tour on these shores next year in support of her February-released third solo album ‘Little Oblivions’.

Baker has announced details of her 2021 and 2022 tour plans, with dates planned in North America from September this year through to November.

She’ll then head to Europe in April 2022 for a number of shows across the continent, before playing a series of gigs in the UK and Ireland in May 2022. Some of the countries she will visit include The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, and more.

Katie Malco will be opening all the North American shows, with Thao as support on some and Dehd on others, while Ratboys will be joining her in Europe.

Baker recently performed a livestream show from Nashville, her hometown, playing both older material as well as new album ‘Little Oblivions’. The album came out in February last year.

“It was just useful to separate my identity from being a performer, and to return to music as something that I did just because I am a musician and because I like to play instruments, instead of something that was [associated] with my whole being and my outlook on the world,” Baker stated.

“In the year over which I made this record, I had to unlearn the idea of recovery being linear, or quantifiable, or something that you did out of principle, that was just a moral achievement.

“With my previous two records, the idea I had was a little bit more idealistic,” she added. “And for my own sanity, I chose to apply this narrative to all the obstacles and struggles and pain in my life, to help me assign meaning to pain… you know, what human beings have been trying to do since the dawn of time!”
