Lionel Richie’s Moves UK and Irish Tour Dates to 2022

14th April 2021 | Category: Concerts

Lionel Richie has rescheduled his UK and Irish tour dates to 2022.

The ‘Hello’ tour was originally set to take place in 2020, before being rescheduled to this summer. Now, a third set of dates have been announced due to continued COVID-19 restrictions.

“I was originally scheduled to bring my ‘Hello’ Tour to the UK and Europe in the summer of 2020, but for the health and safety of all, with the world in lockdown, the live music industry was forced to reschedule their 2020 tour dates,” Richie wrote in a statement.

“With the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis, keeping everyone’s health and safety in mind, subsequent rulings and restrictions across the UK and Europe have meant the inevitable postponements of shows and the rescheduling of festivals at which I was scheduled to appear this summer.”

These are Lionel Richie’s rescheduled UK and Irish tour dates for 2022:

June

2nd – Cardiff, Castle

4th – Dublin, St Anne’s Park

5th – Belfast, Ormeau Park

12th – Nottingham, Victoria Embankment

14th – St Austell, Eden Project

Before the pandemic, there was a European tour planned to piggyback off the singer’s successful Las Vegas residency. Currently, Richie is a judge on Season 4 of American Idol, alongside Katy Perry and Luke Bryan.

The legendary singer doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone he shared his thoughts on retirement.

“They’re gonna have to carry me out, babe. Someone asked me years ago, “When do you plan on retiring?” And I said, “From what?” I’ve never had a job. People who work want to retire. I’m still the 19-year-old kid hanging out with the Commodores right down the road. I must admit the travel has gotten a lot better. But the fun and the adventure is still the same. People say, “But you play and sing the same thing.” No, no, I never did 2020 before. I did 2019, but I’ve never done 2020 and then I’m looking forward to 2021 and 2022 and 2023. The whole thing is a giant play period.”

Rammstein Postpone European Stadium Tour to 2022

13th April 2021 | Category: Concerts

Rammstein have been forced to postpone their European stadium tour. This is the second time that rescheduling has happened. But the legendary German band hopes to play all over their home continent in summer 2022.

With the release of the “Deutschland” and their highly successful Untitled album, the industrial metallers were poised for world domination. Though Rammstein’s North American tour dates are still scheduled for 2021, European audiences will have to wait another year to use their concert tickets.

“The band and everyone involved are very disappointed about this. Given the lack of planning reliability for holding events of this size, this step is unavoidable. The concerts are rescheduled to 2022,” Rammstein wrote.

“Unfortunately, some minor changes had to be made and the show in Belfast will be canceled entirely. Tickets for Belfast will be refunded, all other tickets remain valid! The band is using the time off to continue working on new songs. We look forward to seeing you in 2022!”

Keyyboardist Christian ‘Flake’ Lorenz revealed that Rammstein’s recorded a new album during lockdown:

“The fact that we couldn’t perform live increased our creativity. We had more time to think of new things and less distraction. As a result, we recorded a record that we hadn’t planned on.” So we should get to hear a ton of new material live the next time the band are in town…”

He continued to give more detail on the record, saying its subjects ranged from “daily experience” to “world events”. “Our topic is basically people’s madness and that is not much different in coronavirus times than in normal times,” Lorenz explained.

“So Donald Trump was also very present last year, you could also see many traits and from people, in general, how they behaved in lockdown. So the sources of inspiration are actually always there. Most of the things you deal with ultimately take place in your own head anyway. Only small bumps come from outside and enough comes through when the streets are only half as full.”

The Killers Say New Album is “Finished” and “Coming This Year”

13th April 2021 | Category: Concerts

The Killers have confirmed that they are almost done working on their new album. The follow-up to 2020’s acclaimed ‘Imploding The Mirage‘ is “coming this year”.

In a fan Q&A on Instagram Live, the Las Vegas indie rockers have shed some light on when to expect the album.

“I mean it’s finished, yeah. We’re basically in the mastering phase,” said frontman Brendon Flowers. “It will come out this year. We were hoping for an early summer release, but the vinyl manufacturing companies are all inundated with the artists who held their albums back because of COVID. Now they’re all trying to get their albums out and are making this push. We want to release everything simultaneously, so we’re running into a wall.”

He continued: “It will be [released] this year, and it is finished.”

Drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. added: “It gives us time to make tweaks. It’s good and it’s different. I want to explore talking about the record, but we were told not to let the cat out of the bag too much.”

The announcement comes after The Killers recently broke a UK chart record with their ‘Hot Fuss’ breakthrough single ‘Mr Brightside’, having spent 260 non-consecutive weeks in the top 100 of the UK singles chart since its re-release in 2004 – and having remained firmly in the top 100 for the last five years.

The Killers will embark on their rescheduled UK and Ireland stadium tour in summer 2022. They will be joined by special guests Manic Street Preachers.

The band had initially been set out to hit the road in summer 2020, before those dates were delayed to this year and set to kick off in May 2021. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and with mass outdoor gatherings currently not set to return in the UK until June 21, the gigs have now been rescheduled until next summer – with an extra show added in Falkirk.

Grace Potter Announces Southeastern Spring 2021 Solo Tour

9th April 2021 | Category: Concerts

Grace Potter has announced that she will be heading out on a solo tour this spring.

From April 22-May 5, Grace Potter will play a slew of outdoor solo shows in Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, and more.

“I’m so stoked to get back out on the road this spring in the Southeast for some solo shows!” she wrote via social media. “Come see us!”

Since the first announcement, more shows have beein added in North Carolina, Maryland, and Delaware.

The shows will feature material from Potter’s long career, including her most recent LP, 2019’s “Daylight”.

The musician’s latest record was up for two Grammys — best rock performance and best rock album at this year’s Grammy Awards.

“It’s a really interesting thing. I still go through the same rituals even though it’s not really happening in person,” Potter stated. “You know, I actually cut my hair and I filed my nails. And, you know, it’s feeling like … something to celebrate.”

She also told NPR that she almost didn’t release it.

“I didn’t see it as an album. I saw it as a therapy session, and a very personal one at that. It was the kind of vulnerability that I didn’t associate with myself as an artist. I thought of myself as, like, this strong goddess rock star. I’ve got to always sort of be badass. And when my band broke up and…
My band and also my marriage sort of simultaneously fell apart. You know, a lot of people got hurt. And I couldn’t help feeling like it was music’s fault or something. So it didn’t really make a lot of sense for me to just say, oh, well, you know, buck up? Your band’s gone, and your husband’s gone and — but, you know, you’ll be fine, so let’s get into the next record. I was not ready for any next — at all.”

Goose have announced a series of tour dates, along with the release of their new album, “Shenanigans Nite Club”, slated for a Friday, June 4.

The band had also previously announced a run of spring shows set for this May.

They will kick off a  brief run of socially distanced shows on May 4th in Frederick, MD before stopping in Charleston, SC on the 6th, and will conclude on May 8th in Pelham, TN.

The new set of dates is set for June 11 at Northlands in Swanzey, N.H. From there, Goose will head to the Westville Music Bowl for two shows on June 12 and 13. Next, the band will perform at the Silver Lake Drive In in Perry, N.Y. on June 15 and 16 and Ohio’s Legend Valley on June 18 and 19. Finally, the tour will conclude with two shows at The Pines Music Park in Eau Claire, Wisc. on July 2 and 3.

Their new album will be out just before the next run of shows begins.

“While we’ve been touring, the record has been happening in the background,” said guitarist and vocalist Rick Mitarotonda in a statement. “It’s been quite the process. At times, it was difficult. The record is a companion to those growing pains.”

The record features several Goose live show staples, such as “So Ready,” “Madhuvan” and “Flodown.”

According to a press release, the album is “an ode to oft-forgotten vestiges of Goose’s musical journey, both personal and collective.”

“Our dream is to inspire people to step off the beaten path,” added Mitarotonda. “There are a lot of voices that tell you to play it safe. I think the coolest thing in the world is when someone breaks free and goes for whatever weird shit they dream of doing.”
