Magic Mike Live Arena Tour 2022 Confirmed

29th March 2021 | Category: Theater

The Magic Mike Live Arena tour will open in May next year.

Based on the cult classic film series of the same name, the show is co-directed by Channing Tatum and Alison Faulk and will open in Belfast on 6 May, followed by Glasgow, Aberdeen, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester and finishing in Liverpool.

The show is currently running at the Hippodrome in London, but the creative team emphasized that this will be a very different experience to that show. Faulk said the following:

“This is not Magic Mike Live with more seats. Our arena tour is something totally different. After a year of isolation and frustration, we want to give women something that makes them feel alive again… a sort of celebratory revival that makes them want to stand on their chairs, dance with their friends and feel connected to each other. The show is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of togetherness, sexuality and freedom that only an arena can hold. We want our guys to give our fans the best night of their lives with a party they’ll never forget.”

Magic Mike Live, which has already wowed over 200,000 people in London alone and almost 750,000 worldwide, is a large-scale, live production show based on the hit films Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL.

The piece has choreography by Faulk and co-direction and choreography by Teresa Espinosa and Luke Broadlick. The scenic design is by Rob Bissinger and Anita LaScala (Arda Studio), with costume design by Marina Toybina, lighting design by Philip Gladwell, and video design by Luke Halls. The musical supervisor and composer is Jack Rayner, with sound design by Nick Kourtides. Dreya Weber is the aerial choreographer & aerial apparatus designer. Vincent Marini is executive producing.

Audiences should expect acrobatics, dance and more, with giant screens and visual effects there to add further spectacle.

Magic Mike Live which opened at The Theatre at the Hippodrome Casino in London’s Leicester Square in November 2018 and what followed is its successful London run in May of 2021.

My Chemical Romance First UK Show Postponed

28th March 2021 | Category: Concerts

My Chemical Romance are preparing to hit the stage for the first time since their 2019 reunion for their highly-anticipated return tour. Following various postponements, their string of concerts was set to kick off June 15 with a special show in St. Austell, England.

However, My Chemical Romance’s Eden Sessions show has now been postponed for the second time and will no longer be taking place on June 15. At this time, a rescheduled date for the performance has not been announced yet.

The Eden Project confirmed that their upcoming Eden Sessions concerts in June and July are being postponed. This means that My Chemical Romance’s show is no longer happening on June 15.

In a statement, the Eden Project says they are working to reschedule all of the shows. All purchased tickets will remain valid for the new concert dates. However, if an artist is unable to play the new date, a full refund will be issued.

When My Chemical Romance reunited in December of 2019. Less than two months after their first U.K. show sold out immediately and their North American tour sold out in six hours, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, so their tours were all postponed to 2021.

At present, My Chemical Romance’s return date is June 17 in Milton Keynes. This date was originally the first show the band announced after their reunion concert in Los Angeles. Due to popular demand, two more shows at Stadium MK were eventually added after the dates quickly sold out.

The guitarist Frank Iero is eager to get back on stage with his bandmates when the time is right.

“I can’t wait, man,” Iero said during an interview with At The Drive-In’s Jim Ward. “I really can’t. It’s such a weird experience to be like, ‘Hey, all right, all of this stuff that we’ve been working towards and these well-made plans,’ and all of a sudden it’s like, ‘Ah hurry up and wait.’ But it happens. The play is to make it seem like you didn’t put any work in, you didn’t prepare for anything like fucking James Dean. You just want to be cool without even trying.”

Dinosaur Jr. Unveil 2021/2022 Tour Dates

28th March 2021 | Category: Concerts

Dinosaur Jr. have announced an extensive, late 2021/early 2022 tour through North America.

The tour announcement serves as a sign of hope that concerts may be able to resume in a somewhat normal capacity later this year.

The first of the two-leg trek kicks off September 7th at the Corona Theatre in Montreal and wraps November 27th at the House of Blues in Boston. A West Coast leg is scheduled to launch February 3rd, 2022 at Pappy’s and Harriets in Pioneertown, California, and wrap February 26th at the Ogden Theatre in Denver. Dinosaur Jr. also plans to host their annual Camp Fuzz retreat with fans July 27th through 30th in Big Indian, New York.

The indie rockers are performing coast-to-coast in support of their forthcoming album “Sweep It Into Space”, which will be released April 23.

According to frontman J Mascis, the album – which is the band’s first since 2016’s “Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not.” – was almost done before the lockdown happened.

It was recorded at Amherst’s Biquiteen in late autumn of 2019 following a U.S. tour. Kurt Vile co-produced the album, and performs the lead 12-string guitar on “I Ran Away.”

When recording with Vile was disrupted by the pandemic, lead singer J. Mascis states he “ended up just mimicking a few things [Vile had] done. I was listening to a lot of Thin Lizzy, so I was trying to get some of that dueling twin lead sound. But the recording session was pretty well finished by the time things really hit the fan. When the lockdown happened in March, that meant I was on my own. But it was cool.”

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Details US “Social-Distanced” Solo Tour Plans

26th March 2021 | Category: Concerts

Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor has revealed that he’s planning a “social-distanced” solo tour.

Speaking in a recent interview, the frontman, who released his debut solo album ‘CMFT’ last October, unveiled plans to hit the road in the US for three weeks around April and May.

“[It will be a] short tour – probably about three weeks,” he told Arizona radio station 98 KUPD. “Some of the places we’ll be doing two nights in one city. It’ll be completely social-distanced, which means there’ll be pods with space around it, and the only people allowed in the pod are the people who came with that group.”

He continued: “[There will be] temp checks at the door, and you have to have proof of a negative test within 48 hours [of the show], or you won’t be let in at all.”

Taylor went on to explain that he’s been looking for ways to get back out on the road in order to help his crew.

“So, I’m looking at ways to kind of get the cobs going — not only for myself but for people I care about,” he said. “My crew needs work; my wife [Alicia Taylor, a professional dancer and a member of the all-girl dance group Cherry Bombs], her dancers, they wanna get back out there. So this is the test to see if we can start to kind of inch back towards reality with these in place — at least until the vaccine has had a chance to kind of do its thing.”

Taylor expects his tour will kick off in his adopted hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada.

“The bulk of [the dates are] in the Midwest and then kind of working our way back to Vegas,” he said. “It’ll be April-May. And we’re actually hammering the details out right now.”

Meanwhile, Taylor has teased some “massive” Slipknot news that he says will “probably” be revealed within the next month.

The band has tour dates planned for this summer and there’s talk of a follow-up to their 2019 album ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ possibly being readied for a release later this year.

Maluma to Tour United States This Fall

11th March 2021 | Category: Concerts

Maluma recently announced his U.S. tour that will take place in the fall of 2020.

The tour will make pit stops in cities such as Las Vegas, New York, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, and 20+ other U.S. cities, this September and October. More tour dates will be potentially added in the coming weeks, stated a UTEP Special Events press release.

“I couldn’t be more excited to announce my return to the concert stage. It’s what I have been dreaming about for months and we are going to celebrate together like never before,” the Colombian superstar expressed.

“It’s going to be a celebration! This will be my fourth U.S. tour and I am planning a brand new show full of surprises for my fans and lots of new music off my last two albums ‘Papi Juancho’ and ‘7DJ.’”

Before the pandemic, Maluma spent about three years performing all over the world.

The 27-year-old singer was one of the Latin artists that sold the most concert tickets in 2017 while touring throughout Latin America, Europe, the U.S., and Brazil.

He continued touring in 2018 and 2019 with a performance at the Don Haskins Center in fall 2019.

In 2019 Maluma collaborated with Madonna, appearing on the songs “Medellín” and “Bitch I’m Loca” from her album Madame X. The same year in May, Maluma released his fourth studio album 11:11, supported by the singles “HP”, “11 PM”, “Instinto Natural” with Sech and “No Se Me Quita” with Ricky Martin. Another collaboration with Madonna, “Soltera”, appeared on the album. To promote the album, Maluma embarked on the 11:11 World Tour, with concerts around the world between May 2019 and September 2020.

The singer surprise-released his fifth studio album, Papi Juancho, in August of 2020. The second single from Papi Juancho, “Hawái”, became a commercial success. It reached number one in multiple countries and topped the Hot Latin Songs chart for nine consecutive weeks, becoming his second number-one hit on the chart. He also released a remix featuring The Weeknd. The remix peaked at number 12 on Billboard Hot 100 and became Maluma’s highest peak on the chart.

His most recent music was released last year in January. The EP is titled #7DJ (7 Días en Jamaica) featuring seven songs along with their music videos on his YouTube channel.
