Dolly Parton will be touring stadiums next year as part of ‘Dolly Fest’ to mark her 75th birthday.

The country music legend – who reaches the milestone age on January 19, 2021 – is to play 15 stadiums across the globe to celebrate her life and career.

United Talent Agency’s Neil Warnock told Music Week magazine: “Expect ‘Dolly Fest’ to go global in 15 stadiums, which we have on hold right now.

“And it will be very Dolly.”

The ‘9 to 5’ hitmaker is one of the hardest working artists of all time, and next year she will be just as busy as ever, with the launch of her Broadway show, more films on the way, another book, plus a new album in the works after she signed a deal with 12Tone.

Parton believes her success is due to her being “a working girl” more than anything else.

She said: “I don’t think of myself as a star. I’m really a working girl.

“This is really a way of life for me, and I just pray every day I will be guided in my life and in my career.

I always joked and said, ‘I have dreamed myself into a corner’ – meaning that I have seen my dreams come true and now I have to be responsible for them.

I feel blessed – what a wonderful problem to have. I just make sure I know what’s coming next, brace myself for it and take care of business.”

This year, Dolly released the festive album ‘A Holly Dolly Christmas’, the Netflix movie ‘Christmas on the Square’, as well as her tome ‘Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life In Lyrics’.

And she recently solemnly swore to never retire.

The ‘Jolene’ hitmaker would rather “wear out than rust out”, and loves what she does too much to quit.

She said: “I don’t know why I’d ever want to stop. Especially after you get older, you need things to do. I’d rather wear out than rust out. You only have one life. No, I won’t retire. I might pull back if my husband’s not well or if I’m physically not well. But I’d never do it for any other reason.”

Aerosmith have added a new UK date to their European tour for 2021. They were supposed to hit the road in the summer of 2020, before they were forced to postpone the shows due to the coronavirus crisis.

With the previously-announced appearances in London and Machester now set to take place next June, Aerosmith have today (December 8) confirmed an additional concert for Sheffield Arena on July 2, 2021.

Upon announcing their scrapped 2020 tour last December, Aerosmith seemingly confirmed an appearance at Glastonbury‘s 50th anniversary event, which was also canceled due to the pandemic.

The group’s Worthy Farm debut was listed in a string of dates sent to fans via email. However, Aerosmith did not feature on the initial Glastonbury 2020 line-up when it was unveiled in March.

Despite officially calling it a day in 2017 with their Aero-Vederci Baby! Farewell tour, the rockers returned in 2019 for an expansive Las Vegas residency called “Aerosmith: Deuces are Wild” in celebration of their 50th year as a band.

The band’s Las Vegas residency took place during the months of April, June, July, and September through December 2019 and was scheduled to be extended into January, February, May, and June 2020 at the Park Theater but some dates were cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to the Las Vegas shows, in mid July 2019, the band performed at a festival in Minnesota, and in August 2019, they played a total of nine shows spread across three MGM venues in Maryland, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.

Taylor Swift has released her second surprise album of 2020.

Evermore is described as a “sister album” to her last album folklore, which itself arrived out-of-the-blue in July.

Recorded remotely in quarantine, that record topped the US and UK charts and earned Swift nominations for six Grammy awards, including album of the year.

Swift said the new 17-track collection featured songs from the same sessions.

“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing,” she explained in a series of tweets.

“To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: To turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.

“I’ve never done this before,” she continued. “In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released.

“There was something different with Folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning. I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales.

“I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found into your lives. So I just kept writing them.”

As with Folklore, the new album will contain collaborations with indie artists Bon Iver and Aaron Dessner, as well as female rock trio Haim – who are one of Swift’s competitors in the Grammys’ album of the year category.

The star also said she has directed the video for the song “Willow”, which was released at midnight on Friday, 11 December.

The 30-year-old has also begun re-recording all of the material from her first six albums after the master tapes were sold against her will last year.

Swift opened up about her experience re-recording her older songs, including her breakout 2008 hit “Love Story”.

“I’ve been having a really good time re-recording my older music,” she said.

“It’s been the most fun doing Love Story, because the older music … My voice was so teenaged and sometimes when I hear my older music and my young teenage voice, it makes me feel like I’m a different singer now.

It’s been the most fun to go back and re-record ones that I feel like I can actually, possibly improve upon.

So that has been a really amazing, fun adventure.”

Trivium have announced a lengthy European tour taking place in winter next year. The tour is scheduled to kick off in Saarbrucken, Germany on November 16 next year. The band will be joined by Tesseract and Fit For An Autopsy for all shows. 

The run will follow their previously rescheduled North American trek with Lamb Of God, Megadeth, and In Flames next summer.

“Get ready, we’re coming for you!” they said in the announcement.

The band, who have recently hosted a number of live stream performances, are hitting the road in support of their latest LP, ‘What Dead Men Say’, which was released back in April via Roadrunner Records.

“There has been a strong and special connection between Trivium and Heaven Shall Burn since the earliest days,” said Heaven Shall Burn’s band leader Maik Weichert. “When we met Trivium for the first time, they were very young but already highly talented youngsters, today they´re a global power of metal. Over the years Heaven Shall Burn and Trivium destroyed small clubs and demolished big arenas together, we had great times together in both Saalfeld and Sydney. We´re proud and touched, that our common history is now being continued and we finally tour Europe with the guys again.”

Their old friends Trivium, one of the most important metal bands of the 21st century, also talked about their anticipation of touring together; 

“Heaven Shall Burn was one of Trivium’s earliest introductions to hardcore/metalcore mixed with melodic death and death metal; with very important lyrics that dealt with society and the world as a whole. We started off on the same record label back in the early 2000’s.”

BTS have become the first K-pop group to receive a Grammy nomination.

The boyband’s recent single ‘Dynamite’ is up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2021 awards. 

The song will compete with “Un Dia”, “Intentions”, “Rain On Me” and “Exile” at the January 31 ceremony. They were previously up for an obscure best recording package Grammy in 2019 for ‘Love Yourself: Tear’.

Group leader RM told PTI in an email interaction that BTS is “truly honored” by the recognition from Recording Academy, the institution behind the Grammys.

“We tremendously respect what director Bong Joon-ho achieved at the Oscars, and it was a very proud moment for us as South Korean artists. Similar to the Oscars, the Grammys are the most respected award in the music industry which we grew up watching to foster our dreams as musicians.” 

“We’re truly honored and happy about our very first nomination. It makes us even happier to know how delighted our fans must be right now. It feels like our hard work has finally paid off,” he added.

The Grammy-nominated “Dynamite”, which is their first full-fledged English single, broke the record for most YouTube views in 24 hours upon its release in August. It also became the first song by a South Korean artist to debut at top of the Billboard’s Hot 100, its main singles chart.

Last week BTS released their latest album “BE” and will perform in South Korea on New Year’s Eve in their first live concert since the coronavirus pandemic forced them to cancel a world tour in April.

The Grammys nominations also revealed that Justin Bieber’s latest album ‘Changes’, has been categorized as pop, though he claims it’s an R&B album. The Weeknd, who didn’t receive any nominations for the 2021 awards for his latest album, ‘After Hours’ said the Recording Academy was “corrupt”. Teyana Taylor is also unhappy about the all-male nominee list for R&B album. Another surprising revelation from the 2021 Grammys nominations reveal was that the first time in the awards’ history, only female and female-fronted acts are nominated for Best Rock Performance. The nominees for Best Rock Performance include Fiona Apple for ‘Shameika’, Phoebe Bridgers for ‘Kyoto’, ‘The Steps’ by Haim, ‘Stay High’ by Brittany Howard, Grace Potter’s ‘Daylight’, and ‘Not’ by Big Thief, the band fronted by Adrianne Lenker.
