Bullet For My Valentine Promise a “Brutal, Heavy, and Technical” New Album

21st May 2020 | Category: Concerts

Bullet For My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck has recently revealed how the process of the band’s forthcoming album has been like so far.

In a recent interview with Rock Sound, he said that Bullet For My Valentine were making good progress on their new studio album before the coronavirus pandemic shut everything down.

“We’ve never had this much at this stage pre-recording,” Tuck said. “There are seven which are finished in my eyes: vocals and everything – demoed up and ready to go.

We’ve got a good head start and then this happened, and it’s stopped the train. It’s not ideal, and we did have a lot of plans for the rest of the year for writing and obviously making a record which are on the back-burner now until further notice.”

The vocalist and guitarist also spoke about BFMV’s good timing to take a break from touring in 2020.

“[It] was the best decision the band could have made. ‘Cause we don’t have any of the touring headaches that a lot of bands have that obviously had festivals booked this year and touring schedules, and it’s just stopped all of that. So we’re lucky in the sense that we don’t any of that going on, but it’s still kind of spoiling the flow factor that we had six weeks ago when things were on fire again and we kind of have to put the brakes on for a bit.

But it’s okay — we’ll be fine. We weren’t scheduled to start making the record till September at the earliest anyway. So we’ll just see this out and do some writing in the meantime.”

Bullet for My Valentine have released their most recent album, Gravity, in 2018. It features a significant change in sound compared to the band’s previous releases. However, Tuck said that the follow-up to 2018’s Gravity, will be heavier.

“It’s pretty brutal. It couldn’t be more of a contrast with Gravity in a ferocious style.
You’ve just got to go with what’s floating your boat, and this time around, the heavy stuff is just coming out in masses. The riffs are crushing. There’s probably 60% aggressive vocals and 40% clean, which is a ratio we’ve never really dabbled with before. It’s very heavy, it’s very gnarly, it’s very technical.
For the Bullet For My Valentine fans that like that side of this band, they’re going to lose their minds. It’s very cool and very exciting.”

Watch out for the news about the upcoming BFMV shows, tickets for them will be available here.

Billie Eilish Postpones Remainder of 2020 Tour Dates

15th May 2020 | Category: Concerts

Billie Eilish has postponed all of her Where Do We Go? world tour dates. This is due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“Out of an abundance of caution, all dates on Billie’s WHERE DO WE GO? WORLD TOUR have been postponed. All dates are proactively being rescheduled,” reads the announcement on the singer’s official twitter.

“As soon as dates are finalized, Billie will share the updated schedule and all tickets will be honored accordingly. Thank you for understanding. Stay safe, and stay home.”

Where Do We Go? marks Eilish’s third concert tour and is meant to support her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, which was released in 2019. The tour kicked off on March 9 in Miami, Florida and was scheduled to come to a close on September 7 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the multi-Grammy winner has been spending her time in isolation being productive, as she revealed in a recent interview that she and her brother Finneas O’Connell have been working on new music.

She said: “We’ve been in the ‘stu,’ which just means Finneas’ basement, basically. We wrote a whole song in its entirety, an entire song, which is kind of rare for us to just write a whole song in one. I really love it. It was exactly what I needed to say when we wrote it. I can’t tell time anymore.”

The teen pop star also talked a bit more about the song and how the quarantine has been for her.

“The song I was talking about earlier that we wrote a couple weeks ago that felt so right was…I wish I could sing it for you, but I can’t,” Eilish said. “It was just about, there was this part in it—I needed to say this—which was I know I’m supposed to feel unhappy right now because of this break and because I’m not seeing anybody.

I feel like there’s this kind of thing that I feel like is floating around of like you’re supposed to be missing people. You’re supposed to be missing this person and be missing people in general. I kind of have this feeling of like, I miss my really close friends, I miss people, of course I do, but I also at the same time am liking the space.”

The Black Keys Cancel U.S. Tour

14th May 2020 | Category: Concerts

After canceling their Canadian tour, The Black Keys decided to call off the US summer tour as well, due to COVID-19.

The American leg of the “Let’s Rock!” tour was initially scheduled to begin on July 7th in Seattle, stopping off in Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, and more before wrapping up in Jacksonville on September 6th.

“We are very disappointed to let you know the U.S. ‘Let’s Rock!’ Summer tour is no longer happening,” the band wrote in a press statement.

“We were looking forward to seeing you all out there, but the health and safety of our fans and crew has to take priority. We hope to see you all soon. Please stay safe!”

The Black Keys launched “Let’s Rock!” tour in March last year. It was their first North American tour in more than four years.

Around the same time, the “Lonely Boy” hitmakers dropped their most recent album, Let’s Rock, which came after the 2014’s Turn Blue.

“Four years ago, I definitely wouldn’t have been in a place where I wanted to make a record,” lead singer Dan Auerbach told Rolling Stone in 2019.

“But it was less about making the record and more about ‘We gotta make a record, then tour for two years.’ I’m glad that we took the time to settle our minds and get away from each other for a while. It was really helpful. It made it all better when we got back. . . . I’m excited to play some shows. I’m excited to play for the fans, and I’m excited to play some of the old songs again.”

The US tour is not happening, however, the duo will perform at the Shaky Knees Music Festival later this year.

Marc Rebillet Announces America’s First Drive-In Concert Tour

8th May 2020 | Category: Concerts

As the postponements and cancellations in the music and entertainment industry continue due to the coronavirus pandemic, artists are creating new ways to share their craft.

One of them is famed electronic musician Marc Rebillet who announced via Twitter that he’ll be launching a first-ever drive-in concert tour.

This national tour will be making stops in drive-in theaters that will serve as venues while also keeping crowds at a safe distance. It includes five US cities, starting on June 11 in Charlotte, continuing through Kansas City, Tulsa and Forth Worth before ending in Houston on July 3. If it all goes according to the plan, potentially more dates will be added.

“We need a musical distraction now more than ever,” Rebillet says in the announcement. “I’m deeply pumped to be able to invite people to see me play live in a new, creative and most importantly, safe way.”

A portion of proceeds will go to GlobalGiving Coronavirus Relief Fund.

In the announcement video, Rebillet said that the concerts would stick to strict guidelines.

“Social distancing observed, my team and I have been working super, super hard to put this together quickly and assure it happens safely and responsibly,” he said. “We just would not be able to do this if we didn’t adhere to a pretty strict and rigorous list of rules.”

Rebillet also said he will be moving all around the venue and concertgoers will be able to see him through their windshields.

“It’ll be me, out there, doing a show,” he said. “Since everyone is going to be forced to be in their cars, I’ll be able to do a lot of running around, ‘interacting’ with the audience, just by doing my thing.”

If you’re interested in buying the tickets for any of the previously mentioned shows, you can find them here.

Clarkson’s new show, “Invincible,” was originally scheduled to begin on April 1st, 2020 at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood, with dates planned from July through September.

“We’ve decided to postpone my Vegas residency, Invincible, until 2021,” the singer stated.

“I want everyone to be safe, healthy, & ready to party next year! For the latest info & to receive presale access when new dates are announced, sign up for my mailing list at http://kellyclarkson.com”

In a video she shared on her Twitter account, Clarkson said there was “too much uncertainty going on right now.”

Current ticket holders can get a refund at the point of purchase, according to Clarkson. Also, they will have special presale access for the new dates.

In March, the original American Idol winner has also shut down production on her daytime TV talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, though she’s since continued producing the new episodes in a from-home format.

On her show, on April 16th, Clarkson premiered a motivational new song “I Dare You”.

She recorded alternate versions of the ballad in five different languages, which feature her singing alongside a different international artist, including Faouzia (Arabic), Zaz (French), Maya Buskila (Hebrew), Blas Cantó (Spanish) and Glasperlenspiel (German).

On Monday night (May 4), Clarkson and her fellow The Voice judges were back on TV for the show’s first almost-live-from-home round. The hit NBC show is currently being broadcast from contestants’ and judges’ homes.
