Bright Eyes Cancel And Postpone Certain Dates on Reunion Tour

1st May 2020 | Category: Concerts

Bright Eyes are changing their 2020 reunion tour plans, canceling and rescheduling shows due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The band will not embark on their highly anticipated reunion tour this spring which was supposed to launch May 14th in Spokane, Washington, and wrap June 20th in Queens, New York.

All of the May shows and three of the June gigs were canceled, and refunds will be available to ticket holders at the point of purchase.

However, Bright Eyes were able to reschedule several June shows for summer 2021, with dates for two additional postponed concerts to be announced later.

“Regretfully, yet predictably, we have had to re-think many of our upcoming tour dates,” the band wrote on their Instagram about the US dates. “We hope to be in a better position to gather and celebrate at a later date.”

The Rescheduled/Postponed tour dates are the following:

July 30, 2021 – Worcester, MA @ The Palladium

July 29, 2021 – Bethlehem, PA @ Levitt Pavillion Steel Stacks

July 31, 2021 – Queens, NY @ Forest Hills Stadium

Date TBD – Portland, ME @ State Theatre

Date TBD – New Haven, CT @ College Street Music Hall

As for the European part of the tour, the band assured that the update will follow soon.

Bright Eyes announced their return in January and one month later revealed they’d inked a new record deal with Dead Oceans and were preparing their first album since 2011’s The People’s Key.

In the meantime, the band has shared two new songs, “Forced  Convalescence” and “Persona Non Grata.”

They promised that they will be releasing a new album this year “no matter what,” but exact details about it, including a release date and title, are still unknown

The Killers Share New Songs After Postponing UK Tour

30th April 2020 | Category: Concerts

After releasing lead single ‘Caution‘, last month, the Killers continued sharing new songs that are set to appear on the band’s next album.

Their upcoming album ‘Imploding The Mirage’ is being delayed from late May to an unspecified date in 2020.

The band debuted a new song called ‘Dying Breed’ in their Instagram Live stream on April 24th. Brandon Flowers and Ronnie Vannucci Jr Read played the new song and also teased 30 seconds of another new song, ‘My Own Soul’s Warning’.

The next they appeared on CBS This Morning for the show’s recurring Saturday Sessions segment.

While on the show they took the opportunity to share an unreleased track called ‘Blowback’.

Filmed at Flowers’ Utah home, the two also performed lead single ‘Caution’ and a cover of Tom Petty’s ‘The Waiting’.

Earlier this week, The Killers shared the new song ‘Fire In Bone’ along with announcing rescheduled UK stadium tour dates for summer 2021.

Speaking to NME, frontman Brandon Flowers said that it captures the essence of the new album as a whole, of “tapping into the universe”.

“That’s my take on the unicorn entering the room or lightning striking,” he added.

“I’ve been lucky enough to have that experience a lot in my life. I’m grateful and I’m thankful for it, but it reminded me of the first album when those moments happened a lot. “It winks at you and you’re hooked. You just want to chase it.”

The Killers were to go on a UK and Ireland stadium tour in support of ‘Imploding The Mirage’ next month. However, the dates were postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

The band will head out on their UK stadium tour across May and June 2021, joined on specific dates by Blossoms, Sam Fender, and Manic Street Preachers.

You will be able to find the tickets for their future shows here.

Foals Cancel North American Tour and Reveal New UK Dates

24th April 2020 | Category: Concerts

Foals were due to go out on a co-headlining North American tour with Local Natives this May and June, but they’ve now scrapped it due to COVID-19.

The two bands have issued this collective statement about the canceled tour:

“Due to the uncertainties around COVID-19, our upcoming US and Canadian tour together has been canceled – tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase.

We were going to release these remixes we did for each other when the tour kicked off.  We are heartbroken that we can’t be together this summer to play for you.”

As a thank-you to disappointed fans, the two bands have made remixes of one another’s songs and made them available as free downloads. Local Natives have remixed Foals’ “Neptune” and Foals have remixed Local Natives’ “Dark Days.”

Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis recently chatted with NME about his disappointment about postponing shows.

“This has just hammered home how much we need the shows to feel a sense of completion with the record. It’s like throwing a pebble into the lake and not seeing a ripple,” he said.

“We wanted to reschedule rather than cancel so we’d feel like we completed something. We need to know that connection with the audience is coming, or it just adds to this weird solipsism that is the lockdown.”

The Oxford group has also announced their rescheduled UK tour dates for 2021. All original tickets will remain valid.

New dates are for Edinburgh, London, Blackpool and Birmingham have been confirmed, while dates in Cardiff and Manchester will be added soon.

Here’s what they said about the rescheduled shows:

“The upcoming UK tour has been rescheduled to April & May 2021. Hang on to yr tickets. News on the Cardiff & Manchester dates to follow ASAP. Thankyou for yr patience.
We can’t wait. Until then stay safe. Big big love x”

Before they go on their European tour, Foals will be hopefully be performing at BottleRock Festival, which is planned for May 22-24, 2020.

As of right now, BottleRock organizers are sticking to their statement that the event will take place as scheduled.

“For the festival performance, we will cancel only Trivium which can not appear due to the schedule, and there is no change in other artist lineup. Additional artists will be announced at a later date,” the statement read.

“Note the original order of the Day 1 Roadshow date and Day 2 Festival date [have] changed so please make sure you are attending the correct show dates.”

Before they head to Japan, Slipknot are still scheduled to bring their Knotfest concert event brand to the UK later this year.

Recently, BBC released a documentary on the band called Slipknot Unmasked: All Out Life.

It was originally made available through an exclusive media player, and now can be watched on YouTube.

Corey Taylor, Slipknot’s frontman, recently spoke with Rock Feed about his thoughts regarding the coronavirus pandemic and its effects on the group.

“No matter what, we are going to finish the tour cycle. We are just trying to make the best of the situation.”
