The Weeknd Announces ‘After Hours’ Tour

Grammy-awarded singer The Weeknd has announced an extensive world tour taking place this summer. It will be in support of his next album After Hours.

The tour begins in early June and runs all the way through mid-November, with dates spread across North America, the UK, and Europe.

The first stop will be Toronto, and from there the Canadian singer will be visiting Edmonton, Winnipeg, and later on Toronto, and Montreal. As for the U.S. dates, they will include cities like Chicago, Washington DC, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles and New York. Joining the tour in support will be special guests Sabrina Claudio, Don Toliver and 88Glam.

The shows represent the Weeknd’s first North American tour since his 2017 dates in support of his “Starboy” album.

After sharing the songs “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless” in November, the 30-year-old musician announced the title of his new album. The upcoming album titled After Hours will be released on March 20th, 2020. The announcement and the album’s title track have come out simultaneously, a few days ago, this February.

In a recent interview with CR Men, the singer revealed: “I feel confident with where I’m taking this [new] record. There’s also a very committed vision and character being portrayed and I get to explore a different side of me that my fans have never seen.”

He also mentioned that the first drop “Heartless” follows where My Dear Melancholy left off. “It was the first song I wrote after that album, so it felt fitting for me to put it out,” he said.

I play a character in the video who becomes compromised and then overcompensates with all the sins that Vegas provides. It’s a great introduction to the next chapter of my life.”

Tickets for the new tour go on sale Friday, February 28th. Once they are out, you can look for them here.
