Janet Jackson Announces ‘Black Diamond’ World Tour
The legendary songstress Janet Jackson has said that she will be going on an extensive 2020 world tour in support of her upcoming album titled ‘Black Diamond’.
Miss Jackson shared the announcement by tweeting:
“Hey U Guys! I’ve heard all your wishes and I’m working on my new album and going on a new World Tour this summer titled “Black Diamond.” I’m so excited to share this new era with you.”
Janet will be performing songs from 12 multi-platinum albums including a special performance of Rhythm Nation 1814, which recently marked its 30th Anniversary.
The North American leg of the tour kicks off on June 24th in Miami and continues through August hitting major U.S. places like Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles. Canadian shows will be in Toronto and Vancouver.
The new excursion follows up 2017’s State of the World Tour which consisted of 76 shows across North America.
Jackson will be releasing her 12th studio album ‘Black Diamond’ sometime in 2020 via her own Rhythm Nation label and BMG. Her previous 2015 album ‘Unbreakable’ reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and became her 7th to top the chart.
During her long career, the multi-platinum singer has won 5 Grammy Awards, along with multiple American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards. Jackson was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. She’s ranked as one of the best-selling artists in the history of contemporary music, selling over 160 million records.
