A$AP Rocky Set for His First Live Performance After Prison Release

7th August 2019 | Category: Concerts

The Real Street Festival promoters have confirmed that A$AP Rocky will make an appearance on Sunday at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

This will be the rapper’s first festival appearance since being released from Swedish prison last week.

Rocky was scheduled to play several festivals this summer, including Real Street, when he was arrested on assault charges last month in Stockholm, Sweden. According to the rapper’s manager John Ehmann, the artist and two members of his entourage have voluntarily submitted themselves to questioning from Swedish authorities, following his performance at Stockholm’s Smash Festival on July 2, after which he was arrested.

The rapper was held in custody until last Friday when his trial was concluded. An official verdict regarding the trial is expected on August 14th.

Fans were left devastated when the news about Rocky’s arrest emerged. The rapper has missed festival appearances at Kadetten Festival in Norway, Open’er Festival in Poland, Longitude Festival in Ireland, Wireless Festival in Belgium, Carroponte in Italy, Sonar in Spain, Melt Festival in Germany, Tomorrowland in Belgium and Beachclub in Canada.

Luckily, A$AP Rocky is back in the States, ready to make an appearance at Real Street Festival!

“We are thrilled that A$AP Rocky is confirmed to perform at Real Street! The event is going to be one huge party, and we can’t wait for him to receive a massive welcome from his fans that night,” commented Honda Center President and CEO Tim Ryan.

Old Town Road Breaks One Of The Longest-Standing Records In Music History

30th July 2019 | Category: Concerts

On Monday, Little Nas X conquered one of the longest-held records in pop music history with his single “Old Town Road”.

The record has officially been broken after an astounding 17th week on the Billboard Hot 100, beating the record first set by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day”, which ran for an impressive 16 weeks.

That iconic collaboration began its run atop the chart at the beginning of December 1995 until March 1996.

Another single threatened to break the record in 2017. Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” tied with “One Sweet Day” for most weeks at No.1, however, it was unseated by Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do.”

“Old Town Road” did, however got off to a rocky start, with a controversy regarding whether or not it was more of a country song or a hip-hop song. Lil Nas X went back to the drawing board and added country musician Billy Ray Cyrus to the track.

Later, it catapulted to No.1 where it has been since mid-April and served as Cyrus’s second No.1 song in his career since the 1990’s “Achy Breaky Heart.”

If you wish to hear “Old Town Road” performed live, you can. Z100 has announced that Lil Nas X will perform at their Summer Bash, which will take place on Thursday, August 29th as part of the Seaport District Community Concert on The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City.
