Keith Urban Scheduled to Reopen the Colosseum

16th July 2019 | Category: Las Vegas

Caesars Palace in Las Vegas announced that Grammy-winning country star Keith Urban will perform at The Colosseum, their newly remodelled 4,300 seat theatre.

The New Zealand-born artist will open the renovated venue with performances on September 6th and 7th, as a part of his Graffiti U Tour.

“Caesars Entertainment could not be more excited to celebrate the re-launch of The Colosseum at Caesars Palace by welcoming Keith Urban to officially unveil many new and state-of-the-art enhancements that we have made to our award-winning venue,” said Jason Gastwirth, president of entertainment of Caesars.

Urban, a four-time Grammy award winner, is exactly the type of artist The Colosseum wanted to book, thanks to his mass cross-genre appeal and pop-cultural recognition. The upgraded general admission area within the theatre will give the fans a chance for a more close-up experience than anywhere else in his Graffiti U arena performances.

“We knew we had to reopen a venue as iconic as The Colosseum in a big way. Keith Urban was a perfect choice,” said Amanda Moore, VP marketing for Live Nation Las Vegas. “Fans will have the opportunity to see one of the biggest names in music perform in an intimate setting for two nights only – an experience they can’t find anywhere else in the world.”

Tickets for Keith Urban Graffiti U go on sale July 19th, and you will be able to get them through this link.

The improved Colosseum will soon announce more engagements and residencies soon.

So far, aside from Keith Urban performances, the announced shows also include two residencies from Mariah Carey, three shows from Madonna on her Madame X Tour and Sting’s Spring/Summer 2020 residency.

Elton John – Highest Grossing Tour of 2019

10th July 2019 | Category: Concerts

International music superstar, Elton John, has been named as the highest grossing touring artist of 2019 so far, leaving behind other successful artists such as BTS, Ed Sheeran and Drake.

The veteran rocker sold 608,755 tickets for the 42 shows he played between November 2018 and March 2019, all of which are a part of his tour. This period represents only the beginning of his tour, so he will certainly dominate the charts for some time to come.

Earlier this year, he announced his last tour “Farewell Yellow Brick Road”, after which he will retire from touring and focus on his family. The “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour will last three years and see more than 300 shows in North America, Europe, Asia, South America and Australasia before it concludes in 2021.

The North American leg and his first three weeks in Europe already marked his climb as the most grossing artist of the year. Following closely behind is Pink with $81.8 million for her “Beautiful Trauma” tour. Even though the artist did not beat John on the global level, Pink stayed the highest earner in the North American chart, a title claimed in 2018.

Another British solo artist with record-breaking tour is Ed Sheeran, whose “Divide Tour” landed him in the top 10. His tour will last until mid-August and depending on the success, the “Divide Tour” might become the all-time highest grossing tour ever.

Other artists with the most lucrative acts are Justin Timberlake, Metallica and Fleetwood Mac.

You can get tickets through this link here and not miss out on the last opportunity to see the Rocketman perform live before retiring.

The Cher Show Ending Its Broadway Run

28th June 2019 | Category: Theater

The Cher Show, a bio-musical, written by Rick Elice and directed by Jason Moore, is leaving Broadway after the final show on August 18th at the Neil Simon Theatre.

The final show follows a run of 34 previews and 296 regular performances and you can get your tickets right here.

Produced by Cher, Flody Suarez and Jeffrey Seller, The Cher Show opened on December 3rd and received mixed reviews. It has been slipping at the box office after earning $1 million-plus a week in its first three months.

With the total earning of $32.8 million, which is more than respectable, the producers apparently are looking at diminishing advance sales and cutting their losses before the summer tourist season is over.

The show features Cher at three points of her life, played by Stephanie J. Block, Teal Wicks and Broadway newcomer Micaela Diamond, with Jarrod Spector as Sonny Bono.

For her role in the musical, Block won a 2019 Tony Award for best performance by a lead actress in a musical, while Michael Beresse took home his first win for his role as a veteran costume designer Bob Mackie.

Do you believe in life after Broadway?

The Cher Show certainly does since the producers have announced that there will be a national tour kicking off in Rochester, N. Y., in October 2020.

“Telling Cher’s life story on Broadway has been a joy,” said Suarez in a statement. “Watching audiences relive her empowering story through six decades worth of conic songs, movies, costumes and relationships have been incredible. We look forward to taking this inspiring message on the road next year. We are incredibly thankful to this brilliant cast and crew.”

Lady Gaga’s Vegas Residency Extended Through Spring 2020

25th June 2019 | Category: Las Vegas

Ever since Lady Gaga tweeted that she was “pregnant with #LG6”, her next highly anticipated album, every fan is eagerly waiting for her to announce when the album will be released.

But, according to her latest announcement, that could be a while, since all her energy is currently put towards her two-part Vegas residency and the extension of it.

Lady Gaga fans will not have to rush to Vegas to catch her performance. In a post she uploaded to her Instagram, the singer revealed that her hit Las Vegas residency would be extended and that it would last through December 2020 and into spring 2020.

The residency was launched last fall and it consists of two shows: the hits-heavy “Lady Gaga Engima” and a stripped-down set of her own music and Great American Songbook highlights “Lady Gaga Jazz & Piano”.  Now, two “Enigma” shows have been added for December, and a “Jazz & Piano” New Year’s Eve performance has also been announced. The original end dates for both these shows were November 8 and November 9, respectively.

However, “A Star is Born” singer will also come back after a short break in spring with five more “Enigma” performances scheduled for April and May, and four more “Jazz & Piano” gigs in May.

This news will certainly be well received by the fans that have not been able to plan a trip to Vegas and enjoy the shows that have taken the city by storm.

As of Friday, 28th June the tickets will officially go on sale, so do not miss your chance and get them on time.

You can do that here.
