J Balvin to Become First-Ever Latin American Headliner at Lollapalooza Festival

22nd March 2019 | Category: Concerts

Colombian reggaeton superstar J Balvin is making history as the first Latin American artist ever to headline Lollapalooza Festival this summer.

This is a significant moment for Latin Music in the US mainstream. He will be among the eight headliners including Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, Twenty One Pilots, The Strokes, Tame Impala, Flume, and The Chainsmokers. This amazing lineup and much more awaits you between 1 and 4 August in Chicago so hurry up and secure your tickets on time.

Lollapalooza usually has two headliners perform at the main stages on opposite ends of Chicago’s Grant Park on each night of the four-day festival.

Since J Balvin is listed as the last headliner on the festival’s official poster, he’s earned a spot higher than any Latin artist has reached, and even above American stars like Kacey Musgraves, Lil Wayne, Janelle Monae, Meek Mill and others. The 33-year-old artist made his glory mostly thanks to the massive 2017 hit “Mi Gente”. Except for this sensational song with Willy William and “I Like It” with Cardi B and Bad Bunny, the 33-year-old Colombian star has amassed a strong back catalogue of Latin hits, including “Ay Vamos”, “Ginza”, “6 AM” and “X.”

He has also worked with Beyonce, Cardi B, and Justin Bieber in the past and previously admitted he’s only interested in teaming up with artists he “loves and respects”.

“I just work with people that I love and respect, that inspire me to be a better person, a better artist. I think it was a really beautiful cultural move. People see me with the queen, like, if she’s working with him it’s because he’s for real. She’s not the type of girl that works with everybody. All the other collaborations are helping me a lot to keep spreading the vibe that I want.”

J Balvin becoming Lollapalooza headliner opens the door for other Latin artists to join in the future. This is a huge step forward for the proliferation and inclusion of Latin Music within the US mainstream.

Witness this milestone moment for the Latin music and secure your spot at the biggest summer festival, the festival that was conceived in the 1990s and celebrates alternative culture.

Tickets can be bought here.

The duo last performed together at 2015 Outside Lands Music &Arts Festival in San Francisco which followed their extensive tour supporting both 2010 album Brothers and 2011 album El Comino. He explained in a statement that during his first ever opening scene, the magic of theatre was born in him. On the other hand, Rudin believes that the role is the best role ever written for a musical actor and that Hugh is the perfect man for the job. He is a diamond among the actors, being able to juggle big-screen action movies and old-fashioned sing-and-dance roles.

The Wolverine actor with many talents is kicking his first ever solo musical world tour performing old classics and the music from his projects. He sets off on 7 May in Great Britain and Europe before he flies off to North America. Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Chicago are just some of the cities that will get the chance to enjoy his amazing talent and charisma.

Many people are not fully aware of Alice Cooper’s greatness. Before Slipknot, before Red Zombie and before Marilyn Manson, there was Alice Cooper. This hard rocker has been fusing the metal and horror ever since the 1970s and he seems to have no intentions of slowing things down. He helped to shape the sound and look of heavy metal and was the first who introduced horror imagery to rock ‘n’ roll.

In addition to making music and touring, Cooper continues his radio show Nights with Alice Cooper that is broadcast on over 100 radio stations worldwide ever since 2004.

Cooper’s most recent album is 2017’s Paranormal, but he plans to introduce some brand-new songs and a new stage show called “Ol’ Black Eyes Is Back”. The legendary shock rocker promised some brand new songs for the tour and is currently working on new music with producer Bob Ezrin.

Halestorm is on the road, supporting their last year’s album Vicious, which earned them a Grammy for the Best Rock Performance. Lizzy Hale, the frontman of Halestorm who leads the rise of women in rock, is honoured to perform with Alice Cooper.

“We are beyond excited to announce our new tour with the man who burnt the rule book on rock ‘n’ roll… Alice Cooper. Alice is our A in the ABC’s of Rock music, and we are honoured to be sharing the stage with such a legend and his incredible band. School’s definitely out!”

“We’ve played festivals with Halestorm, including Rock In Rio, and now I’m excited about doing this summer tour with Lzzy and the band, can’t wait to get to the first show,” said Alice Cooper.

Don’t miss the clash of these titans and buy your tickets right now.
