Shawn Mendes Sells Out His First Stadium Show

18th December 2018 | Category: Concerts

Shawn Mendes announced his 2019 Arena Tour earlier this year and according to the recent headlines, it’s going to be epic. The tour hasn’t even started yet but the buzz around it is enormous. The tour starts in March 2019 and you better hurry up before those seats get snagged at your arena.

Shawn’s self-titled tour kicks off on 7 March in Amsterdam and ends with the last show in Toronto in September. In between those dates are dozens of shows in Europe, North America and Australia and Shawn has recently added more dates due to the high demand for tickets.  The show at Toronto’s Rogers Centre is his first time headlining a concert in his hometown and at the same time, his first arena concert and the tickets were sold out in minutes.

“This really was a dream come true to play the Rogers Centre in my hometown,” Mendes said in a statement. “And now to have sold it out is just incredible and something I could have only ever imagined.”

Mendes already performed on this stage in 1989 tour as an opener for Taylor Swift and now headlines his own show. Louis Messina, from Messina Touring Group that is promoting the tour, described Shawn as a young man who always had a clear vision, dream and determination and has managed to pull it off. Purchase your tickets on time because Mendes Army is always lurking for tickets.

Manager Andrew Gertler added, “Since day one, Shawn has put his all into to his live shows. We set the goal to end this tour with a sold-out stadium and achieved that faster than I think any of us expected. He always had big dreams to play big venues, and to now have risen to stadium level is just the beginning of more to come.”

The tour supports Mendes’ highly-anticipated self-titled album, from which he’s already released several hit singles including “In My Blood”, “Lost in Japan” and the Khalid-featuring “Youth”.

The album was released on May 25 and will mark the superstar’s third LP to date, following 2014’s Handwritten and 2016’s Illuminate, both of which topped the Billboard’s 200. Shawn Mendes album also debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, making Mendes the third youngest artist to collect three number-one albums after Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus.

Hugh Jackman Announces 2019 World Arena Tour

5th December 2018 | Category: Concerts

Great news for all fans of Australia’s favourite star Hugh Jackman.

He has just announced his first World Arena Tour dubbed “The Man. The Music. The Show.” for 2019 and he promises it we’ll be quite some show. In the anticipation of this amazing new show, purchase your tickets in time and revise some of the greatest hits from Hugh’s blockbuster musicals.

Hugh Jackman is kicking off a pop star-like tour next year in May and he jokes about doing his research right. He has been to several concerts in his lifetime, including some great names like Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé.

“I’ve seen some of the greats,” Jackman said in a recent interview. “And the great performers for me are the ones who can connect with the person in the back and in the front. And I’ll sometimes sit in the back ’cause I wanna know am I feeling it back here? ‘Cause I’m from the theater, (so) for me everything I do has to connect to every single person.”

Jackman will be performing songs from his movie hit The Greatest Showman and musicals such as Les Miserables, The Boy From Oz, and Oklahoma!. The audience will enjoy these amazing songs both from the screen and stage, peppered in with some anecdotes from Jackman’s fruitful career. He wants to give all these songs a new spin and also wants to surprise fans with brand new songs. He is writing new material with Justin Paul and Benj Pasek who did The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hanson the musical.

The show will include about half a dozen songs from The Greatest Showman — a film that has gripped box offices with surprising tenacity since its release last December and yielded a soundtrack that not only spent 30 weeks in the top 10 of the charts, but then went on to inspire an entirely new soundtrack of its own.

Jackman will kick off his tour in Hamburg, Germany, on May 13. He will play two shows at The O2 Arena in London, where the album The Greatest Showman had even more success than America. The album has spent 48 of 49 weeks in the Top 10 on the U.K. charts, including 21 weeks at No. 1. And it’s currently No. 4 on the charts, a year after its release.

The North American leg begins on June 18 in Houston so don’t waste any time and buy your tickets here.
