Backstreet Boys are Back with New Album and a New World Tour in 2019

13th November 2018 | Category: Concerts

Great news for all of you who had all your walls covered up in Backstreet posters twenty to twenty-five years ago because they are back, big style.

The famous pop boy band has announced a new album and a world tour for 2019 and we simply couldn’t believe it.  Arena dates are already there so don’t waste any time and purchase your tickets right now, just pick the city closest to you.

Backstreet’s back, alright.

The band announced Friday morning their long-anticipated album DNA will be released on 25 January. They also dropped a new single “Chances”, written by One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder and pop singer Shawn Mendes.

The lead single for the album “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” was released back in May and the band has recently completed their Las Vegas residency called “Larger Than Life” and managed to wrap up their album.

In addition to that, they have announced a 70-date tour, not just in support of their upcoming DNA album but also to celebrate their twenty-sixth anniversary. This extensive tour will hit UK, Europe, Australia and North America.

“The journey is ongoing with us and there is so much left to do,” said member Brian Littrell in a statement. “We’re living the next chapter that hasn’t been told yet, and that’s exciting.” Bandmate Howie D added, “when this group started 26 years ago — and through all the highs and lows of our career — we’ve had to learn it wasn’t about us as individuals but about what’s best for the group.”

The DNA World Tour opens in Europe in May before heading to North America in July.

The North American 43-date leg opens on 12 July in Washington, D.C. and currently concludes on 15 September at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center.BSB has sold over 100 million records world-wide, had their first 9 albums at the Top 10 on Billboard and the only boy band who did so till today. They are the best-selling boy band of all time so they still have a lot to offer.

This will be BSB’s biggest arena trek in 18 years and the album DNA is their first LP in six years so it will be interesting to see how their music has evolved over the time.

“That’s what I love about this album,” BSB’s Kevin Richardson said in a statement. “We were able to bring all of our influences and styles into one coherent piece of work. These songs are a great representation of who we are as individuals and who we are as a group. It’s our DNA. We’re really proud of that.”

Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A. J. McLean and Kevin Richardson can’t wait for the album to be out and for the tour to kick off.

Buy your tickets in time and enjoy their DNA music.

Early Pink Floyd Music on 2019 Nick Mason Tour

9th November 2018 | Category: Concerts

Pink Floyd drummer and co-founder is kicking off its debut tour and will be accompanied by his new band The Saucerful of Secrets.

Tickets for all 25 performances can be found here.

Nick Mason simply wasn’t ready to retire and felt like they still had something to say so he decided to hit the road once again. He formed a new super group earlier this year called Saucerful of Secrets consisting of former Pink Floyd bassist Guy Pratt, The Blockheads guitarist Lee Harris, Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp, and composer Dom Beken.

The rock outfit hit Europe earlier this year and now they are ready to take over North America with Pink Floyd’s early, pre-Dark Side of the Moon material.

The trek officially kicks off on 12 March in Vancouver British Columbia at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and concludes April 22, 2019 in Washington, DC at DAR Constitution Hall. Los Angeles, Houston, St. Louis, and Chicago are some of the included stops, as are Boston, Montreal, and New York.

Buy your ticket on time and enjoy Pink Floyd’s early classics.

This tour marks Pink Floyd co-founder and drummer Nick Mason’s first performances in North America since Pink Floyd’s July 18, 1994 concert at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey as part of the Division Bell Tour.

The band will be digging deep into the archives to offer songs not heard live in America for a long time, if ever. Some of the songs they play live include See Emily Play, Arnold Layne, The Nile Song, Bike, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun and Obscured by Clouds, all from the album released in June 1968 called A Saucerful of Secrets, which is the name of the band now.

U.S. and Canadian audiences can expect those and much more. “Frankly, we feel there’s still more to do and can be explored,” Mason said. “The set list that we’ve done in Europe will almost certainly be the basis for what we do, but we certainly intend to add a few more tracks.”

“I really wanted to find something different and a bit quirky,” Mason explained. “I think, for me, what’s most interesting is to revisit the thinking behind some of these pieces.”

Blake Shelton to Kick Off Friends and Heroes Tour

5th November 2018 | Category: Concerts

Blake Shelton decided to mix old with the new country on his upcoming 2019 tour called Friend and Heroes Tour.

He invited country veterans John Anderson, Trace Adkins and the Bellamy Brothers to join him on stage along with the special guest Lauren Alaina, AMC new female vocalist of the year. The tour will kick off on Valentine’s Day on 14 February at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma and wrap up on 23 March in Albany, New York.

Tickets for all dates can be found here, hurry up and don’t miss this amazing group of performers.

Shelton will perform at 19 arenas across North America and The Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson, Trace Adkins and Lauren Alaina have all signed on to provide support for the tour and all appeared in a comedic video Blake’s team put together to announce the tour. In the short video, Shelton orders a beer from bartender Alaina and then schools a bunch of young country fans on the merits of Anderson and the Bellamys.

Anderson, Adkins, and the Bellamy Brothers have over 150 years of music-making experience between them. This tour will be a historic opportunity to see these country legends playing together in arenas. Anderson is the real legend of the genre with epic songs like “Swingin’”, “Straight Tequilla Night” and “Seminole Wind”. Howard and David Bellamy are known for “Redneck Girl” and “Let Your Love Flow”. Lauren Alaina was the runner-up of the tenth season of American Idol and released her debut album in 2011. With her second album Road Less Traveled in 2017, she achieved her first No.1 hit and topped both Country Airplay and Billboard Charts. Mixing experience with some fresh blood, Shelton once again proves his commitment to the country music community.

Buy your tickets on time and enjoy.

“I’m really excited about my tour because it’s taking where I came from and the music I listened to growing up and actually introducing it to a whole new audience,” Shelton said in a statement.

“I feel like a lot of people might know the Bellamy Brothers’ and John Anderson’s music, but maybe they’re not familiar with who they are as artists. I think that this is going to be a great opportunity for the country music fan base to be re-introduced to these guys and, selfishly, I’m just excited to share the stage with them! It’ll be great to have Trace back out on the road with us, and I can’t wait for one of my newer friends and heroes, Lauren Alaina, to blow these crowds away.”

Shelton is promoting not only his origins but also his eleventh studio album Texoma Shore, releasecd in November. The country singer, songwriter and TV personality has been on the judge’s chair at The Voice since its inception, and for 6 out of 15 seasons, a member of his team won which proves he is also a great mentor.

To Kill a Mockingbird Premieres on Broadway

29th October 2018 | Category: Theater

We are counting down days to the world premiere of Academy Award winner Aaron Sorkin’s new play, directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, To Kill a Mockingbird.

Tickets are on sale so don’t miss the chance to see your favourite book’s adaptation on stage. The play is scheduled to officially open on 13 December with previews beginning on 1 November in New York.

Readers have enjoyed the story of a heroic lawyer fighting injustice in Alabama 1930s for decades so we expect the play to be a massive hit. Published in 1960, Harper Lee’s book became a global phenomenon with more than 50 million copies in print to date. In the Library of Congress on books that most affected people’s lives, To Kill a Mockingbird is second, right after Bible. It is considered as one of the greatest classics of modern American literature and has been voted America’s best-loved novel last week during the finale of The Great American Read. Lee wrote the book about her own childhood in Alabama and Atticus Finch based on her own father.

The amazing story of Finch family will be brought to life and see a whole other light as a Broadway play. A stage version of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer–winning novel has been running since 1990, a large-scale production of the book has never been attempted on Broadway until now. Justice and tolerance in the American South will be vividly brought to life on the Broadway stage.

Jeff Daniels will star as Atticus Finch while adult actors Celia Keenan-Bolger, Will Pullen, and Gideon Glick will appear in the roles of the kids, Scout, Jem and Dill. Sorkin explained the decision for not casting kids.

“In a novel, we’re okay with listening to children talk and watching them behave because the author, in this case, Harper Lee, has made sure it’s of interest to adults. On a Broadway stage, we’re not going to be able to watch children for that long.”

The whole cast spent a lot of time in workshops, reading dialogues while the script was written and rewritten so they all were involved in the production of the play. The creator of the play prepared us to expect some changes comparing to the book. Aaron Sorkin explained he refuses to present the play written the same way the book was written 57 years ago. The time has changed, the circumstances have changed and it simply wouldn’t be of interest but he promises that the script “does not derogate or depart from the spirit of the novel, nor alter the fundamental natures of the characters in the novel.”
