Nicki Minaj Postpones North American Tour Dates

28th August 2018 | Category: Concerts

Nicki Minaj fans in America will have to wait a bit longer to hear their favorite musician since the famous rap star decided to postpone the whole North American leg of the NICKIHNDRXXX tour for May.

The joint Nicki Minaj and Future tour was scheduled to kick off on 21 September in Baltimore, Maryland, but it was pushed to May 2019 in order to refine production elements.

The European and Australian dates remained completely the same and all tickets can be found here.

Minaj apologized to her fans on social media and explained that the release of her latest album was pushed back for two months and that she simply doesn’t have time to rehearse and she wants to bring them quality above all.

Had her album came out in June as planned she would have had three months to rehearse and prepare for the tour but she was writing and recording until last week and it’s impossible to prep completely in just four weeks.

Future’s schedule is also full and we are not yet sure whether he will co-headline the entire tour.

“Future and I will now start the European leg of our tour first, so those dates will stay exactly the same and the U.S. leg of the tour will now start in May,” Nicky explained.

“With Future’s schedule, I may have to take another co-headliner or I may just do it like I did The Pinkprint Tour and it wouldn’t be a co-headline. I probably will just have three or four opening acts.”

At the end of her explanation, Nicki Minaj promised to fans the wait will be worth it. After all, the recently released album Queen broke the record of being number one in 86 countries. Ticket for all NICKIHNDRXXX performances can be found here.

However, there are some rumors that the tour was plagued by poor ticket sales.

“Nicki’s tour could be the most disappointing ticket sales of the year for any artist. These are big arenas with up to 20,000 capacities. Sales for opening night in Baltimore is 2,000 tickets. LA is 3,400, New Orleans 1,000, Denver 1,300, and Chicago 3,900. Even her hometown Brooklyn is only 5,050.”, reports claim.

Nicki Minaj fiercely fired back at these allegations saying that anyone with a brain understands the tour can’t be put together in a month and that she gives her fans only quality.

Jermaine Dupri to Kick Off 25th Anniversary So So Def Tour This Fall

2nd August 2018 | Category: Concerts

Rap fans, you better prepare for a spectacle this fall because Jermaine Dupri has just announced a multi-city anniversary concert tour to celebrate his record label So So Def.

Tickets for all dates can be found here and you better prep in time for the rap and hip-hop event of the year.

We simply couldn’t believe this huge news and the starts announced to hit the stage besides Dupri.

The likes of Xscape, Da Brat, Jagged Edge, Bow Wow, Anthony Hamilton, Bone Crusher, Youngbloodz, Dem Franchize Boyz and J-Kwon will perform on his 25th Anniversary Cultural Currency tour that kicks off on 14 October in Washington.

After hitting Baltimore, Nashville, Atlanta, Memphis, Charlotte, Detroit, Greensboro, Washington and New York, the tour ends on 2 November in Los Angeles.

While announcing the 11-date tour, the rapper-producer refferd to it as a “blessing.”

“This is a perfect timing” he said. “This is the 25th anniversary of a black-owned record company that put out multiple artists and enough artists to do our own tour. We’re blessed basically.”

Dupri founded the record label in 1993 and So So Def Recordings had helped develop and promote the entire genre of Southern hip-hop in the 1990s. Projects by Da Brat, Xscape, Jagged Edge, and many more all contained chart-topping songs. Dupri was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame this year and in 2005 he earned a Grammy for best R&B song in 2005, “We Belong Together”, performed by Mariah Carey.

The most anticipated date is definitely 21 October in Atlanta, Dupri’s hometown. Dupri’s goal is to remind people how influential So So Def Recordings have been to the culture of hip-hop and R&B music in the past 25 years. He explained the tour is titled Cultural Currency because artists are connected to the label just like cultural currencies- people of great value to the world of hip-hop.

“I feel like with my artists and even myself, people don’t pay enough attention to how much we mean to the culture and how much So So Def meant to breaking the South and making people pay attention to Atlanta,” he added.

Pay respect to this amazing event and buy your tickets in time.

Live Nation Reports Double Digit Growth in First Half of the Year

30th July 2018 | Category: Concerts

Live Nation released their financial report and all we can do is to congratulate them. They revealed double-digit growth in operating income and adjusted operating income in its second quarter 2018.

Their impressive growth rise is mainly due to producing the hottest tours recently including superstars like Taylor Swift, Keney Chesney, Andrea Bocelli, The Eagles, Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5 and many more. The company’s increased income amounted to $135 million which is 19% rise in the last quarter while the revenue reached almost $2.9 billion through concerts, sponsorships and advertising.

“We have built the industry’s most scalable and unparalleled live platform, bringing over 550 million fans in 40 countries to live events each year,” said Live Nation President Michael Rapino in a release.

“With our key metrics in concerts, sponsorship and ticketing all pacing ahead of last year, we are confident that in 2018 we will again deliver double-digit operating income and AOI growth for the company.” He added.

Since its inception in 1996, Live Nation has built success around consolidating concert promoters and producers in a national company. In 2000, Clear Channel Entertainment bough them and they operated under that name until 2005 when they became Live Nation. Last year they reported $30 billion in gross revenue, hosted over 86 million on-site consumers at its events and invested $5.6 billion to put on these events. Each year they produce over 29,500 events in 40 countries and they are currently constructing a physical recording label, Live Nation Artists, and hope to sigh Madonna, Shakira and Nickleback.

In 2008, Live Nation signed a 12-year deal with U2, worth an estimated $100 million, which includes Live Nation controlling their official website, sponsoring, merchandise and touring. U2 is currently on the sequel of their extensive Innocence + Experience Tour from 2015 and all that just after wrapping up their Joshua Tree 2017 Tour, which ended up earning $316 million for just 51 shows.

The Innocence + Experience tour is relying heavily on U2’s last two albums including their December album Songs of Experience, featuring their previously released tracks “You’re the Best Thing about Me” and “The Blackout”. Tickets for all U2 performances can be found here.
