His priorities had changed and he wants to say goodbye in the best possible way, with this extensive tour and the most produced, fantastic show he has ever done. It took him two years to plan this tour since he wanted to do it in a classy and elegant way. He would still record music but he will not travel again after this tour finishes.

The 71-year-old singer took inspiration to name his tour from his 1973 album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

The tour will begin in Pennsylvania in September 2018 but for now, you can watch him perform in Las Vegas Caesar Palace Colosseum at his The Million Dollar Piano Residency that ends on 19 May. He recently addressed speculation that he is in bad health because of his recent bacterial infection he picked up in South America, but he joked saying “if you’re going to do 300 shows, you’re not in ill health”. The main reason for his retirement is that singer would like to spend more time with his husband and two children.

“When I stop, they will be 10 and eight and that’s a very important time in their lives. I don’t want to miss them, and I don’t want them to miss me”.

Sir Elton John has sold more than 300 million records over his five-decade career which makes him one of the best-selling artists of all time. With more than fifty Top 40 hits, seven consecutive No 1 US albums and numerous awards and honors, he will definitely put on quite a show.
