Chris Evans Set for a Broadway Debut With Lobby Hero

26th February 2018 | Category: Theater

If you are a fan of Captain America, don’t miss Chris Evans’s debut on Broadway as Lobby Hero is coming on March 1.

It will be the first show both for Second Stage Theatre’s inaugural Broadway season and the opening of New York’s city newly renovated Hayes Theater. Performances of the play begin on 1 March with an opening night scheduled for 26 March. Don’t miss our favorite action hero on the stage for the first time.

Check out our page and buy your tickets on time.

Chris Evans, 36, debuts in this play by an Oscar-winning screenwriter and playwright Kenneth Lonergan. Alongside Michael Cera, Bel Powley and Brian Tyree Henry, Chris will portray what happens when emotions come in conflict with principles and how choices under pressure define who we really are.

Directed by Trip Cullman, Lobby Hero follows a security guard, his strict supervisor, a rookie cop and her overbearing partner. The setting is in the foyer of Manhattan building in the middle of the night and a murder investigation underway. You will be completely absorbed in the actors’ performance, witnessing what happens when personal and professional people find themselves at odds.

The play first premiered Off-Broadway in 2001 at Playwrights Horizons, with Tate Donovan and Heather Burns as lead roles. This revival was announced last year and we simply can’t wait to see it.

Tickets for all dates can be purchased here.

Second Stage also announced that its first Broadway season will follow with Straight White Men, opening in July 2018, directed by Anna D. Shapiro. This will mark the first time a play written by an Asian woman has been produced on Broadway.  Torch Song, Mary Page Marlowe and other contemporary works are scheduled for June 2018. The ambitious commissioning program emphasizes Second Stage’s mission to make the intimate Hayes Theatre, a 104-year-old building newly renovated, a permanent home on Broadway for American plays.

Broadway is Ready to Be Frozen!

23rd February 2018 | Category: Theater

Great news for all Disney lovers!

The highly anticipated new stage adaptation of the Disney Hit Film Frozen, begins performances on 22 February o Broadway.

Don’t waste your time and buy your tickets right now.

Join the princess of Arendelle, Elsa and her playful younger sister Anna in this musical from Disney Theatrical. This full-length stage work told in two acts is the first and only incarnation of the famous tale from the 2013 animated movie. The stage adaptation was in the works since 2014 but all great things take a lot of time. We are glad Frozen is finally here and can’t wait to see it!

Frozen will officially open on 22 March on Broadway but if you are impatient to see it as soon as possible, previews have already started. The show premiered last year in Denver Center for the Performing Arts and received fantastic critics.

Broadway veterans, Caissie Levy and Patti Murin are starring as famous sisters Elsa and Anna on their epic adventure. Jelani Alladin as Kristoff, Greg Hildreth as Olaf, John Riddle as Hans and many others join them on the stage in this magical adaptation.

This timeless tale of two sisters, pulled apart by a mysterious secret, will simply melt your heart. One sister struggles to find her voice and harness the power within while the other embarks on an epic journey to bring her family back together. Both sisters are searching for love so come and witness their quest and final reunion.

Jennifer Lee wrote the screen play while Oscar-winning team Kristen Anderson-Lopea and Robert Lopez worked on the music since this stage production features more than twice as much music as the film. Tony winner Rob Ashford worked on choreography and the play was directed by Tony winner Michael Grandage. The design team consists of two Tony winners, Christopher Oram – scenic and costume design, Natasha Katz – lightning design, and two Tony nominees, Dave Metzger – orchestrations and Stephen Oremus – music supervision and arrangements.

Considering the expertise of the team carefully gathered by Disney Theatrical, we can expect the bigger success than the animated film had achieved.

Tickets for all dates can be found here.

The Smashing Pumpkins Are Coming Back with Three Original Members

20th February 2018 | Category: Concerts

The Smashing Pumpkins have just announced their comeback tour with three out of four original members hitting the road in the summer. Don’t miss out this 90s giants’ tour for the first time since 2000 and purchase your tickets right away.

It wouldn’t be the Smashing Pumpkins reunion without any scandal. The announcement of the tour came just after weeks of drama involving former bassist D’arcy Wretzky. The band claimed they invited her to come back to the band and join the tour but she deferred multiple invitations to participate in demo sessions or even meet face-to-face. D’arcy called this “a complete lie” and also described Corgan as “insufferable” and as if he has “a brain tumor.”

The three original members are heading out on the road for the first time since 2000 and they are delighted they have the chance for new beginning. They are planning to perform with a bang and the staging will be unlike they had ever done before. Billy Corgan has reunited with classic lineup members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin, plus the 2000s guitarist Jeff Schroeder. They will be celebrating songs from their first five albums from Gish to Mashina. It is still vague which member will play bass in Wretzky’s place. They have all played guitar historically and Chamberlin is the band’s drummer, so it is still an unclear situation. More information is coming in the upcoming weeks.

“Some 30 years ago, as The Smashing Pumpkins, James Iha and I began a musical journey in the cramped rear bedroom of my Father’s house,” the famously cantankerous Corgan said in a statement announcing the tour. “And so it’s magic to me that we’re able to coalesce once more around the incredible Jimmy Chamberlin, to celebrate those songs we’ve made together.”

The tour is scheduled to start on 12 July in Arizona and finishes in Idaho on 6 September after making stops in Texas, California, Canada, New York City and many others.

Tickets for all dates can be found here.

The video announcing tour features Ali Leanger and LySandra Roberts who appeared on the cover of the band’s 1993 album “Siamese Dream”.

30 Seconds to Mars to Unleash The Monolith Tour

15th February 2018 | Category: Concerts

The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman, Jared Leto, went on The Ellen DeGeneres show earlier this month and announced not only their long-anticipated fifth album but also a headlining summer tour that will kick off on 6 June.

Jared gifted a ticket to each audience member of the show. It was a great move, giving away free tickets just like Oprah gives away free cars, but if you failed to be on the show and missed on the free ticket, visit our page and buy your tickets in time for the upcoming tour.

The Monolith Tour is in support of their upcoming album and the North American run is scheduled to start on the first week of June. It will kick off in Canada and then continue across the US.

Toronto, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Miami, Houston and Los Angeles are just some of the planned performances.  The group will be joined by Walk The Moon, K. Flay, MisterWives, Joywave and Welshly Arms, each opening on different dates.

Tickets for this monumental tour can be purchased here.

Before the North American run, 30 Seconds to Mars will first hit 17 different countries in Europe from March to May, including two dates in the UK.

This electric rock band has been relatively quiet since 2015 when they released their fourth album “Love, Lust and Dreams” and toured across America, Asia, Australia and Europe. Now they are back with “The New Album” scheduled for the release on 6 April.

The trio made of brothers, Jared Leto, Shannon Leto and Tomo Milicevic have been working hard on the songs for the album since 2016. So far, two songs have been released “Dangerous Night” and “Walk on Water” which they performed at the MTV Video Music Awards this year. “Walk on Water” spent five weeks at No 1 on Billboards Rock Chart and is currently at the Top 40 Chart.

The official music video for the song is in fact a preview of the upcoming documentary film “A Day in the Life of America”. This documentary is directed by Jared Leto and includes footage filmed in a single day on 4 July in all 50 states plus Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico.

The film that included 92 professional film crews and 10,000 fan submissions, presents a unique and historic portrait of America on a single day. The band members encourage people to continue the conversation by posting their thoughts with the hashtag #WhatAmericaMeansToMe.
