Demi Lovato Is Hitting the Road in 2018

28th December 2017 | Category: Concerts

Demi Lovato, singer, songwriter and actress will be touring in support of her sixth studio album Tell Me You Love Me, across North America from February to March 2018. She announced the tour by tweeting “LOVATICS, I’m coming for you” so you better prepare for her best tour ever. You are just one click away from buying your tickets.

This Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum singer is kicking the road on 26 February in San Diego. She will perform in 20 cities across North America and wrap up on 31 March in Tampa. The special guest will be multi-platinum, hip-hop icon DJ Khaled. This producer, entrepreneur, artist and author had his tenth full-length album Grateful on Billboard Top 200 chart. The album was certified platinum with 1.1. billion streams of the album to date.

Demi is going on tour, produced by Live Nation, in support of her latest album Tell Me You Love Me released in September. Demi’s single “Sorry Not Sorry” topped Pop Charts and she just dropped a great documentary “Simply Complicated” on YouTube and was named the Queen of Halloween.  It’s been a busy few months for Ms Lovato.

Fans’ buzz about seeing her perform has reached an epic roar prior to the announcement of the tour. Her last tour in 2015 in support of her album Confident, didn’t bring her joy. After the tour, she explained she would move and try out some new territory and sound because she just wasn’t into the songs. Singing pop songs every night wasn’t fun for her and wasn’t soulful and so she decided not to go on tour until she writes the songs that will be fun to perform every single night. Can’t wait to listen to her new music on tour. Tickets for all venues can be purchased here.

Demi Lovato has definitely come a long way. She made her debut starring as a child in Barney & Friends on Disney Channel. Over the years she released few albums that always were an instant success but she had personal issues dealing with addiction and eating disorder. In 2010 she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder but she completed the treatment, overcame her difficulties and became stronger than ever.

Waitress Becomes First Ever All Female-Organized Broadway Show

26th December 2017 | Category: Theater

Grammy-winning singer and songwriter, Jason Mraz, will make his debut on Broadway in the hit comedy musical Waitress along with the Jessie Mueller, Eric Anderson, Kimiko Glenn and give the play a dash of fresh wind in the early 2018.

Don’t miss out this fun, love story that will entertain you during the festive season and buy your tickets here.

The musical is based on the 2007 indie film of late Adrienne Shelly that grossed $1,9 million domestically. The story revolves around a waitress Jenna, trapped in an abusive marriage and looking for a happy ending. When she unexpectedly becomes pregnant, she begins an affair with her gynecologist, Dr. Jim Pomatter, stared by Jason Mraz.

She enters a pie contest and sees a grand prize as a way out of her impossible situation. Jenna must find the strength and courage to rebuild her own life so this is not just a story of finding your prince charming but about woman who has to take action and discover her worth.

Waitress made its Broadway debut in April, 2016 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. The U.S. national tour began on 20, October, 2017 and will continue until November 2018.

Tickets for all shows can be found here.

The play features original music and lyrics by a 6-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles, a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson, direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus and choreography by the team’s new addition, Lorin Latarro so this play became the first-ever Broadway musical with an all-female creative team!

This is a historic and long overdue moment for Broadway and all members of the team are happy to be working with such passionate and inspiring women. Women in one creative role, let alone four, are still very rare on Broadway.

Over the last 41 seasons of Broadway musicals, only 1 in 10 directors, authors or composers were female. But women strive to change that over the last years. In 1998, Julie Taymor and Gerry Hynes became the first women to win two directing Tony Awards. Diane Paulus won Tony in 2013 and last year was the first an all-female composer-lyrics duo, Lis Kron and Jeanine Tesori, won the Tony. So women are definitely changing the practice on Brodway. Don’t miss out this first all-female creative team musical and get your tickets here.

Little Big Town has spent most of 2017 selling out the Ryman Auditorium for their historic year-long residency. Plenty of their country music friends joined them for the residency like Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris. Monthly performances started on the same date their album Breaker was released, 24 February. The Breaker spawned huge hits “Better Man”, “Happy People” and “When Someone Stops Loving You”.  The quartet won the ACM award for the Vocal Group of the Year and is nominated in four categories for the upcoming CMA awards.

The Texas trio, Midland is giving them support on their Breakers 2018 tour. Midland released its debut album on 22 September and the album gained a huge success after their first single “Drinkin’ Problem” topped the charts. Their neo-traditional sound will definitely add some variety to the tour.

Little Big Town is a group that makes music for almost two decades now and will surely deliver a performance full of evocative emotion and run of frivolity. Together with Midland and Kacey Musgraves, they are surely a winning combination.

Come From Away Is the Favorite Broadway Show in 2017

20th December 2017 | Category: Concerts

With the end of the year approaching fast and party and present frenzy at our door, Broadway fans looked back at the best 2017 had to offer and voted for their favorite Broadway productions. Musicals ruled this year but Come From Away broke the record. Don’t miss this catharsis celebration of humankind and purchase your tickets here.

Newsweek praised the show saying this musical does what all best musicals do, taking you to a place you never want to leave.

The obvious inspiration for the story is tragic events of September 11, 2001, but the true story is a tale of generosity and kindness that stayed under the radar for years. The story is set in the week after the bombing of Twin Towers of World Trade Center when 38 planes were ordered to land unexpectedly in the small town of Gander, the nearest sizable airport on the continent, as part of Operation Yellow Ribbon.

Gander was a military post during World War II and for years was used as a refueling point for transatlantic aircrafts. The detour nearly doubled its population of 9,650 residents but they managed to host and comfort them until they were able to get back home. The characters in the musical are based on real Gander residents and some of 7,000 stranded travelers they housed and fed.

Irene Sankoff and David Hein chatted with people and turned their interviews into a poignant and emotional piece of theatre.

Small cast of actors, playing multiple roles in composite sketches won the affection of audience. Critics sang their praises and celebrity visitors flocked to the theatre to see it. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, first daughter Ivanka Trump and UN ambassador Nikki Haley are just some of the big names that witnessed this spectacular show of human kindness und unselfishness.

That’s why the show won 5 outer critics circle awards, three Drama Desk Aawards, one Tony Award and we’ll have to wait until January 28, 2018 for the 60th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony to count the Grammy Awards.

It is the biggest and best surprise of the theatre season, and everyone should watch  this remarkable true story of the small town that welcomed the world. It represents the best we can be so don’t miss it!
