The Bowl Championship Series (BCS) is a five-game showcase of college football. It is made to make sure that the both top-rated teams in the country meet in the national championship game, and to make a more exciting and competitive matchups among 8 other highly regarded teams in four other bowl games. It has been undeniably successful in achieving those objectives. Thanks to the BCS, the top two teams have played each other 14 times in 14 years by BCS measurements and 11 times in the last 14 according to the AP poll – which include the last 8 years in a row. In addition, it has given more access to the main bowls for all eleven conferences, more television exposure, and more postseason revenue than ever before.
The 5 bowl games are the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, Discover Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl presented by VISIO, Allstate Sugar Bowl and Allstate BCS National Championship Game that is played at one of the bowl sites.
