NFL Playoffs – Pittsburgh Steelers
Baseball may be our national past time, but this time of year it doesn’t generally get a passing thought. This time of year is reserved for the most watched sport in the United States–football. This years football has been more than just exciting, with upsets and wins by teams we never really expected to do as well as they have.
Now of course, when it comes to good football, it doesn’t get much more exciting than the Steelers.
Now this comes, mind you from a dyed in the wool Pennsylvanian Steeler fan, but let’s face it, whats not to love about the Pittsburgh Steelers.
1974 to 1979 saw the franchise becoming the first NFL franchise to win four Super Bowl titles in six seasons, which is in fact a feat that still remains unmatched by any other team, a feat which is yet to be matched. They are still the team which was the only sixth-seeded team in NFL history to advance to a championship game; and win it, to take the Super Bowl win in 2006.
While the Cowboys are one of the most beloved teams playing, Pittsburgh too is ranked among the most popular of the teams taking the field, and this year, not without reason.
“In August 2008, ESPN.com ranked Steelers’ fans as the best in the NFL, citing their “unbelievable” sellout streak of 299 consecutive games”
This weekend will see them at their best, when they take the field against the Chargers at Heinz Field.
Do you plan to be there? There are still tickets available, but how long are they going to last?
Kickoff is 4:45 P.M.
