The 50-year-old Queen of Pop still got it! And the fact that she is in the midst of divorcing her husband, movie director Guy Ritchie, doesn’t seem to have affected Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet Tour” at all.
As a matter of fact, when she kicked off the first of her Canadian tour dates Saturday night at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, she was as professional and sensational as ever. She opened the concert with the song “Candy Shop” from her latest album “Hard Candy” and the first the crowd saw was Madonna dressed in a sexy outfit, sitting on a throne holding a pimp’s walking cane!
Madonna and Ritchie’s divorce is one of the hottest topics in the tabloids and on the Internet right now. The British tabloid The Sun reports that Ritchie will get at least $34 million in cash as well as properties worth even more in his divorce settlement with Madonna. And according to TMZ.com, the biological father of the little boy David, who Madonna recently adopted, has said that he believes that his son just might be better off back in Africa. The boy’s biological dad is even quoted as saying: “If there is no love in the family, is there any love for him?”
But despite all the drama at home, Madonna continues to deliver amazing performances. Her “Sticky & Sweet Tour” has already broken attendance records in Europe and will probably do the same in the U.S.
