Boxing is known to be one of the most ancient sports in the history. For all the boxing enthusiasts, one of the most awaited boxing fights is going to be held in MGM Grand, Las Vegas on November 14th, 2009. This fight is between the two very proficient players of the boxing world – Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao. Obviously, this is going to be an excellent battle between these two fighters, there is no welterweight championship belt involved here. It seems to be more like a tune-up fight for both these champions.

Pacquiao, who hails from Philippines, is going to be put against the pride of Puerto Rico, Cotto. At the same time as Pacquiao has been successful in defending big boxers like Ricky Hatton, Marco Antonio Barrera and the much renowned Oscar Dela Hoya, Cotto has been a three-time World Boxing Champion.

Both these champions have agreed to box on 145 pounds, merely two below the welterweight limit and about five more than the light-welterweight category. Although the papers for the fight are still being finalised, it an event that every boxing fan would be looking forward to. Pacquiao is known for his punches and speed in blinding combinations. It is known that Manny does not possess the best boxing skills, but his southpaw stance perfectly complements the existing style. He has a great left straight that would shock the orthodox fighters or even knock them out. He also happens to be a great chaser in the ring.

On the other hand, Miguel Cotto is a tough boxer as well. He takes a defensive approach and happens to be a counter-puncher. He possesses all the power to knock the opponent out initially, like it happened in his last match. Although he doesn’t possess the same speed as Pacquiao, he is a tough opponent to beat. These two fighters are the best in their own boxing styles and the match would be worth every penny.
