Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who brought the greatest wizard boy Harry Potter to life, is suiting up and returning to Broadway this fall to star in a world premiere play “The Lifespan of a Fact”.

Daniel Radcliffe will return to Broadway with co-stars Cherry Jones and Bobby Cannavale in “The Lifespan of a Fact”, based on the critically acclaimed, bestselling 2012 book about fact, fiction and blurred lines, Lifespan will be directed by Leigh Silverman, a 2014 Tony nominee for her direction of “Violet”.
Written by Jeremy Kareken, David Murrell and Gordon Farrell, the play is based on the 2012 book by John D’Agata and Jim Fingal that detailed their own real-life journalistic investigation into the suicide of a Las Vegas teen Levi Presley. The book had quite a history. In 2003, D’Agata submitted the essay “What Happens There” to Harper Magazine but was pulled from the print after Fingal’s research found factual errors. After seven years of discussion and correspondence between Fingal and D’Agata, the essay was published in The Believer magazine and the two co-wrote the book The Lifespan of a Fact about the experience. The book includes in full Fingal’s red-line comments and complete correspondence between them. It was named The Best Book of the Year by the Huffington Post and a Top 10 Most Crucial Book of the Year by Slate.
Radcliffe will play Fingal, Bobby Cannavale will play D’Agata and Cherry Jones will play Fingal’s boss.In the play, Radcliffe has a small job, fact-checking articles for the best magazine in the country and his boss assigned him the biggest job so far. He found out that the majority of the article is made up by the author John D’Agata and he starts the debate on the blurred lines of what passes for truth in literary nonfiction.
Radcliffe is not a stranger to the stage so we expect an excellent performance. He starred in 2016 “Privacy” at the Public Theatre in New York, 2013 West End production of “The Cripple of Inishmaan” and 2011 “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” on Broadway.
