Michelle Obama on Tour with Her New Book
The former first lady will soon hit the road with her new book Becoming and we simply can’t wait.
Tickets for the shows can be found here so make sure you buy them on time and not miss the opportunity to hear her story.
Michelle is drawing closer to the release of her memoire Becoming and she has just announced a book tour that will take her to arenas in ten cities all over the U.S. The tour will start in Chicago on the same day her memoires hit shelves on 13 November. Until mid-December she will visit Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York, Dallas, Boston, Detroit, Brooklyn and San Jose.
The audience will be treated with an intimate and honest conversation between Michelle and a selection of moderators yet to be announced. She will reflect on the extraordinary stories shared in her book. She wrote about her personaland professional life, from her childhood in Chicago to life in the White House. She wrote about her roots on the South Side, her time as First Lady during Barack Obama’sadministration. She wrote about being a woman, a wife and a mother, about all the ups and downs, all the bumps and bruises. She even wrote about her and her husband’s friendship with Beyoncé, Jaz Z, Chance the Rapper and many more.
Michelle hopes her story will inspire others to grow, never give up and also share their stories as an example. All the people we meet and all the experiences, shape us into what we are today.
“I’ve spent the last year and a half reflecting on my story as deeply and honestly as I could, and now I’m thrilled to travel the country and do the same with readers this fall,” Obama said about her upcoming tour in a release.
“I hope that this tour will inspire others to reflect upon and share their own stories — all the joys and sorrows, all the scars and renewals — so that together, we can better recognize that each of us, in our own way, is in a constant process of becoming.”
Michelle Obama also details on her role as the first African American first lady and how she used her position for the empowerment of women and girls. Together with Live Nation, she organized than 10% of every show’s tickets are donated to various charities, schools and community groups in each city the tour stops.
Tara Traub, senior vice president of Live Nation Touring, is proud of and excited about the tour.
“Hearing her share her story in person will be a memorable life experience for attendees of the Becoming tour and one that will help encourage people to find their own voice and pursue their dreams for a better future — for themselves, their families, and their communities.”
